The Popeyes that Elizabeth talked about was probably not store owned then. Most likely was a franchise and the company probably did not want to buy it. The company itself filed for bankruptcy protection many yrs ago. The original owner bought Churchs chicken restaurants down south and got in serious debt. Forcing Popeyes to be owned by AFC now, then they sold of Churches Chicken. The original owner still had the recipe and seasoning rights for which the new company had to pay yrly fees for.
The new location might be store owned now. You'd have to check. Everyone needs to recognize that all stores or restaurants you see whether it be burger king, kfc etc aren't always company owned but maybe franchised.

I guess everyone has forgotten that Popeye's was already on main street were Four Brothers is now. It didn't make it on main street 15 years ago....why would they re-open in Poughkeepsie again?
