Oh heck YES!
They should have done this sooo many years ago!
I mean if WIC can (tell you what you cannot buy)....why can't SNAP? What is the actual purpose of SNAP program?
Just add all the junk food because they are contributing to the island's obesity and diabetic statistics.
This also depletes their account faster vs. cooking foods at home that can stretch out.
The mom and pop stores have long been taking advantage as well and they even admit that majority of their customers are SNAP recipients. You see junk food stocked up galore ....I can't even buy food at those stores (cuz there is none) so I end up going farther to the nearest grocery to cook our next family meal.
But if I wanted a snack, soda, or beer it's just down the road to a mom/pop store.
I seriously can't wait to have it implemented!

This is a decision that should have been implemented years and years ago. I believe that this would better encourage families to lean towards healthier food options such as fruits, vegetables, poultry, lean meats and organic dairy products. I see too much waste on processed canned foods that lead to an unhealthy lifestyle most especially within the children that benefit from the SNAP Program. I do most highly agree that the prices should be within affordable price range as to promote this healthier lifestyle. In addition, is there anyway that this could also be beneficial to those who are not as fortunate to have this wonderful commodity of a card, to be able to afford these organic prices, which even for me are outrageously overly priced.

I think that is just about right thing to do. I see a lot of recipients that are just using it mostly on junk food instead of nutritious food.
