I agree with Rob, Mr. Trump has done more for law enforcement than all other candidates. Good for BUTCH ANDERSON!!!

This comment is in reference to Marty's... Your comment has nothing to do with the Wappinger Creek! Donald Trump is a good man as well as Sheriff Anderson.
As for the Wappinger Creek I am happy the Federal Government is finally acknowledging the issues with the Lower Wappinger Creek. As a lifelong Town of Wappinger resident, I have been aware of the chemicals that are in the waters that came from the historic Dutchess Bleachery, now the Market Street Industrial Park

Butch Anderson has lost my vote. As a member of law enforcement standing with a man like Trump, he has put a negative light on his whole department. He should retire and just join the Trump organization.

I caught a fish once in that creek and he said to me "let me go and I will grant you three wishes". So I let him go - and he immediately swam away! No wishes at all. So I really don't fish there anymore.

I grew up on Sleight Plass Road, so most of my fishing was from Rochdale Rapids down to White's Bridge / Overlook Drive-In. The water was pretty polluted back them with the finishing factor up in Pleasant Valley dumping their effluent and De Laval pumping filings and coolant into the creek. Still, now-and-then caught some native trout; although, more so in the tributaries. Later, I did fish for stripers in the tidal region. No action on herring, but saw folks with spool, rod, and string poles catching carp and cooking them right on the spot. I've also fished a few times from the headways at Thompson Pond, through Stanfordville, and in Washington Hollow. Most of the pollution there was from farms (still to today, at the headwaters, cows dump right at the edge of the Wappingers) and folks bypassing dry wells and just pumping their laundry water into the backyard and down into the creek.
