Do you think the charges filed in the death of Howard High School student Amy Joyner-Francis are appropriate?

I know her mother that is a cop got to feel like two cents. She going around here locking up people for doing wrong doings, and I think she forgot her own child. Is she too busy that she can not find time to teach her own child the do's and don's, or is her child rising herself. She is a cop. she did not notice anything that was not right with her child, acting different then normal. I just can not believe it, I just could not go around locking up others when you can not teach your own child how to go about handling things. I know your daughter makes you look so, so, dumb It is not like she is grown and we can say that she is responsible for her owe actions, but she's not, her mother is, she should teach her better than that . I know{you don't know what your kids are doing when you or not around, but if you are teaching her, she would think twice before she had done that.

This is horrible to know that these girls are only all getting tried as juvenile is sickening. To know someone hit another human being to the point where she is now dead is a problem. These girls knew what they were doing when they planned this fight 20 hours before completing this action. Trinity Carr should be getting charged as an adult for her actions. She hit Amy until she was helplessly laying on the floor. As for the other two girls they should be getting charged just like they are if not with assistance in a homicide. For all of them to no longer have jail time on the table is completely wrong. Trinity Carr did the crime and she should do some time for the crime. She was all big and bad when she took Amy's life away beating her to the point where her body could not take it anymore. She should rot in jail despite her only being 17. Should needs to be taught a lesson and be found guilty. If Carr was so big talking on social media saying "how she should watch herself next time" and things like that she deserves to rot in jail for 25+ years just like someone who is 18 and older who commits murder.

These three girls should be put up in jail for what they did to the poor girl. And you all know that bully in the school is a crime so that why is called JUSTICE TO BE SERVE!!! No matter what how old they're because they will keep doing it all over again so better dial with it!!!

    Just f......g sick
I hope they have to fight for there life everyday in prison , what's left of it !!!!!!!!

the leader of the pack and the one who actually inflicted the damage should receive the harshest punishment. And do not tell them that they will eventually receive their punishment from God because those who do not believe do not fear that in any way

They have to answer to god all mighty so there sentence is not over yet ????

  • Juliana Doyle - 8 years ago

I believe that the potential sentence is dugisting. All three girls should be tried as adults. Amy health had nothing to do with their actions. I am sure when they were planning to beat her they were not considering her health. THEY WERE GOING TO HURT HER AND THE DID!!!!.:..Delaware police are idiots for basing the charges off of the autopsy results as opposed to the premeditated actions of these girls. where is common sense it is an out rage that the law protects the criminal......these girls are laughing and smirking to themselves.....and we are helping them get away with MURDER!!!!....You got to be kidding me

Why shouldn't they do prison time????? They are the scum of the earth!!!!

  • Lakshmi - 8 years ago

All the three student who killed Amy , should go to Jail. and get the pain what they given to Amy..

This will be Lesson to others what will happen if they hid (or) Kill another Student..

Very Sorry about Amy's Family.. They got life time Pain , because of the three student who couldn't control their emotion and killed Amy..

  • Gail - 8 years ago

I'm not at all about prison as an answer, usually but this case makes me sick. This kind of behavior needs to STOP - it's bullying at its worst. They should ALL be tried as adults and charged with premeditated murder. Fighting is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Bullying is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Girls competing with ine another is NOT ACCEPTBALE. We should be holding each other up, not THIS.

  • Aniah - 8 years ago

And think about it. If it was your child, wouldn't you want the same thing for him or her? You would want justice and her killers away for good. But your self in Amys familys shoes. Know all the pain they feel eachday. Think about you letting your 16 year old daughter go to school. And getting a phone call saying she was assaulted in a bathroom and went into cardiac arrest. And later died from her injuries. No parent should ever think that when they let their child off to school that would be the last time they see him or her alive. Ever! School should be one of those safe places that everyone should be comfortable going to. Change the charges and give the other 2 atleast 5 years please???!??!?!?!??!?!?! JUSTICE FOR AMY AND HER FAMILY!

  • Aniah - 8 years ago

8 years for the one that repeatedly hit Amy and 1 year for the other 2 girls? Thats not right at all. Do you understand that they literally planned to assault her and they did and ended up killing her? Amy needs more respect then this she died of an very young age do to 3 girls no matter who was getting the most punches in. Give Amy and her family Justice thats all im asking. Put her killers away for so long that they forget who they are. Doing us and Amy that favor would be a miracle of all time. GIVE AMY AND HER FAMILY JUSTICE!

  • Fibonnaci cqwince - 8 years ago

Wow,really? Eight years for one,and one year for the other two! Seriously, the punishment does not fit the crime. A terrible miscarriage of justice. Well, God is the true adjudacator, vengeance is his, he will repay. A coward and a bully dies a thousand deaths. How can they sleep at night?

So injust. They planned this in advance-premeditated, and it resulted in a death. There has to be additional charges the AG's office can add. The family of this young girl needs to fight for justice. The entire scope of events need to be re-evaluated, and any and all possible charges need to be considered! Up to 8 years for one, and up to 1 year for the other two? That's sad and disgusting.

  • Mary Tan - 8 years ago

This is sad for our justice system! These girls planned this and eight years is all we the people can offer them! Very light punishment I do believe. Prayers for Amy and her family always.

  • Cheryl - 8 years ago

These stupid broads who engaged in that act of beating up on Amy Joyner-Francis need to be expelled from Howard High School of Technology and be locked up big time; possibly for the rest of their lives!

  • RUCRAZY - 8 years ago

They may not have intended on killing Amy but they did, and certainly didn't show any remorse by posting on instagram that she "we made sure we killed that b1tch or how about #ripAmyB1TCH or maybe "fu#$ that b1tch I'm glad we killed her" Anyone see any remorse there? All I see is hatred directed to a pretty young girl who had her whole life ahead of her. You think that we should be merciful towards these girls? When did they show Amy mercy? She collapses and they leave her to lie there?
They film the fight and posted for all to see. What about Amy's family? Do you think that they want the last living seconds of their daughter posted on the internet for the world to see? People watched the fight yet no one reached out for help or tried to break up the fight? What's wrong here? NO regard for human life? Are we living in China? That child was someone's baby girl, she was loved and cherished.
The attack was planned in advance which makes it premeditated murder. Amy's medical condition shouldn't be a factor because the attack is what caused her death, not the hole in her heart, had she not been attacked she wouldn't be dead.
All lives matter including Amy's and hers is gone because of this attack, and that is murder plain and simple. .

  • yvonne vaughn - 8 years ago

They all should be tried as adults. If they can plan it out they know what they were doing they should all 3 get live in prison. Fair is fair one life was taken so they should loose their freedom also.

  • Tee - 8 years ago

This is just a,smack in the face to the family. Not only was this planned they bragged about it afterwards. I hope somone fights for them to receive more time.

  • Willie Merritt - 8 years ago

Because all three-girls came to school with the intention to hurt Amy they all should be changed the same, its a total disrespect to the family

  • Rachel - 8 years ago

Why not life?for all the girls.that's what they gave amy.

  • Peggy - 8 years ago

Amy died because of all 3 girls plot and their choice to attack her, not her heart. The 3 girls should be tried as adults and given maximum. Also those people that did nothing to stop the fight need jail time.

  • April - 8 years ago

This is so wrong they killed her or cause her to die an they get a year to 8 years.they need to get more years longer years.there is no JUSTICE for Amy's family or Amy.this is wrong.THEY NEED TO GET A LONGER TIME WHAT IS A YEAR TO 8 YEARS THAT'S NOTHING.

  • Phyllis - 8 years ago

It was the intent of these girls to hurt the young lady that was killed. It was not their intent to kill her. They made a horrible choice by attacking this young lady. They had no idea she had health issues and because of that they need to take responsibility for making a bad choice. Fighting has its consequences if you know the facts or don't know the facts. The choices of those taking pictures and edging everyone on also have to take responsibility for encouraging this bad behavior. Isn't anyone teaching these kids to think? This fighting issue was discussed and I wonder if anyone thought she could be paralyzed or killed. It was talked about. Now ask yourself was it worth it. If it was then you need to be held in jail for life because you wanted to take a life.

  • Disgusted - 8 years ago

This is a travesty of justice. Premeditated murder is being treated like a prank that took a wrong turn. These girls knew they were doing something terribly wrong that could have dire consequences. It doesn't matter whether they were subject to ghetto mentality. At 16 someone is old enough to know that a choice is wrong and to be responsible for that wrong choice by doing the time. Evil is not stupid or victimization. It's something that needs to be dealt with head on and harshly.

All 3 girls should be charged with premeditated murder and charged as adults. A girl has lost her life because she was brutally beaten which caused her heart to fail! They planned and discussed what they were going to do whicj makes it premeditated! Try them as adults make them pay

  • FirstStater19807 - 8 years ago

Looks like the NU should have split its NO category into 2, NO -- Charges are too tough, and NO -- Charges are not tough enough. Seems like more of the NOs are of the former, not the latter, based on Reader / Voter comments. When 3 Young Women set out to harm another Young Woman and death results, it's not an "incident", it's a planned assault / attack that resulted in "murder," a homicide. One Young Woman committed the Homicide and the other Young Women assisted her. If you are their parents, or their friends, surely you feel they are "innocents" who made a mistake. If you are the parents or friends of the victim or her family, then you feel like it should have been more heavily charged. The Charging Decision was left to the AG, certainly appropriately, and the AG should have brought all the Appropriate Charges, and then let the Jury decide the fate of the Young Women and just how Innocent -- or Guilty -- they are for deciding to assault and, as a result of the assault, kill the victim.

  • Sherri - 8 years ago

Let's just put it this way.....What if it was ur child??? The reason the world is the way it is, we have these young people killing babies retaliating against someone who shot there baby... The ones who suffer are our children. They only know what we teach them and I guess that's violence. shame on our Society for allowing this to continue...so sad.

  • Richard - 8 years ago

These three punks have no social redeeming significance. Put the bums way for life and be done with them. They would only end up in prison anyway because they are scum and should be eradicated like the vermin they are.

  • Theresa Uzzell - 8 years ago

All of them still cause that child's death they all.should be held responsible as adult they really should just will they ass the electric chair getting life is to good for them and their parents should be sued too.

  • Tee - 8 years ago

The sad truth is that they killed not just the young lady ;but everyone that cares about her, they'll live on ;but the family and love one's of Amy will relive this tragedy. When did recording someone else hurt become so popular. These young ladies need to realize if they reach for Jesus they won't follow everything the devil tells them. The BIG QUESTIONS IS IF IT WAS ONE OF THERE BROTHERS OR SISTERS HOW WOULD THEY FEEL. If these young ladies are fighting over a young man now if they don't seek God then what will they do when they're grown and life doesn't go there way. STOP AND THINK ABOUT YOUR ACTIONS BECAUSE YOU'RE 16 AND ALREADY LABELED A MURDER.

Our DOJ in the state of Delaware is inept and incapable of prosecuting high profile cases. The fact of the matter is that they were scared to charge these animals with the proper charges (1st degree murder) because they would get out done in court by a good defense attorney. It is a sad day when you have to be scared to send your child to school. I do agree if the girls were white that committed this heinous crime that the charges would be different. Black lives only matter when a white person kills a black person. These three girls are animals that have been raised as animals. They should be caged for the rest of their lives to prevent them from killing again. They will kill again!

  • Justine - 8 years ago

No the charges were not enough! How will these youths be when they come out of the "system". Will they be all brand knew with deep regard for human life? Doubtful. More like they will be pissed off adults with no hope for a future who will only resort to additional violence to take what they believe it theirs, whether it be a bicycle or another human being. Depending on over crowding and good behavior will the entire 8 years be spent? I find it hard to believe that "no one" in the school knew Amy had a heart condition. These kids no every little detail about each others lives. Fortunately for the young lady who threw the first punch she is being shown mercy. My heart hurts for Amy's family and friends. My heart hurts for my fellow Delawareans as the violence in our state continues. When does the bloodbath end? How do we stop the madness?

  • roaddog - 8 years ago

I think we are losing our youth at a alarming rate. Violence seems to be there first response to problems. The loss of life in this incident is tragic. We as a race need to come together and try to reach our young adults. Lets not just march for black lives matter but march for reaching our children. Were raising a generation of future prisoners of america

I think they shouldn't even had a chance to spend any time with their mother Amy and I can't even spend any time at all with her mother cuz she is no longer here because of the hands of another person I think she deserves to rot in prison are you going to take a life with somebody else only get .8 years that's not punishment that's just a slap on the wrist she's 16 years old she's old enough to take a life she's old enough to do the crime good time the other two and then they should rot in prison too why the hell you didn't stop her before she got to that point I think all three girls should get life

  • Kizzy - 8 years ago

I think they All should. Be charged with first degree Murder. This is ashame their Getting a Slap on the Wrist.

  • SUE - 8 years ago

THIS IS ABSURD ... SHAME ON THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE NOT CHARGING THESE GIRLS UNTIL MONDAY TO LET THEM SPEND THE DAY WITH THEIR MOTHERS ... WHAT ABOUT AMY??? SHE DIDN'T GET TO SPEND THE DAY WITH HER MOTHER???

DELAWARE IS TEACHING CHILDREN IF YOU FIGHT SOMEONE AND KILL THEM YOU HAVE NO CONSEQUENCES AND THEREFORE THESE KIDS HAVE NO VALUE FOR A HUMAN LIFE...

I HOPE THESE GIRLS GET THEIRS IN PRISON ... KARMA!!!

  • Ron - 8 years ago

If they only get 8 yrs for there actions in this case, they got away with murder. The pre-existing condition should not factor in to this case. The Prosecution for our state should go after them at the full extent. It was pre-meditated and they should get more than 8 yrs.

  • Shell - 8 years ago

I think an example needs to be made here I don't care if Amy had a pre condition with her heart the fight triggered it! this is not Justice Amy family cannot see her anymore nor witness her accomplishments nor see her get married or have children, do you really think they are sorry I don't and the way they bragged about it hell no they need to be punish to the fullest extent of the law these misfits will strike again watch because they got away with murder.

  • Dee - 8 years ago

Im happy that these girls are being punish n held responsible for there actions but I totally feel there being under charge.Amy lost her life and all her killer get is 8years.and this was premeditated murder.Trinity Carr should be charge 1st degree murder because that's exactly what she did.

  • charles - 8 years ago

I said No, for the simple fact Amy lost her life. All of the girls involved should be tried as adults thats the bottom line. Also to the person who filmed this awful attack you to as well should be locked up. This up and coming generation is terrible people stand by and watch and laughing when people are fighting instead of trying to break it up.

  • TNT - 8 years ago

My opion in this is that all girls should be charged the same. They planned a fight that went fatal and they need to be responsible for what occurred. The 2 girsl get conspiracy (thats a slap on the wrist). Nothing attached to the conspiracy, they not doing no time at all and its in family court. Carr may get 6 months.

  • Donna McDaniels - 8 years ago

I voted no because all of them should get life, they act like Amy's life didnt matter,i even think that the one that film the fight is sicker than the one who was doing the hitting and the one standind by should get life also, what happened to guilty by association, they will get out and do it again,Delaware should be embarrassed of their justice system,I cant believe Amy's life don't matter and the world is worried about Ferguson or Rodney King,I think we better focus more on schools bathrooms because it is happening more than what people know, schools are not protecting our children's,I cant imagine getting that call from school, school should be one of the safest place a child can go,and if Amy had not died those girls would have gotten three days out of school, yes am mad and feel so sorry for Amy's family and friends

  • Henry - 8 years ago

This girl died that is not enough time for the crime not only for the three girls but whoever filmed it and did to stop it they should be punished to

  • Ruth Kelly - 8 years ago

All 3 girls should be tried as adults and given the maximum. Delaware needs to do what they recently started in Wisconsin. The only way to bring about swift change with parents who do not take personal responsibility for both themselves and their kids is to hit them in the pocket. My daughter along with a few other kids were throwing rocks and one hit a lady's car. If her car window was broken it was MY responsibility to pay for the damage. Those parents not being held accountable for their child's actions (bullying, truancy, etc.) should be fined for each offense and if they can't afford to pay the fine should be jailed. The amount of the fine and jail time is up for discussion. When money is involved folks will start to get the message!!!

  • Joan - 8 years ago

I have lost a child, so no one understands the loss unless you experience it. It is sad that our society today allows teens to feel it is ok to bruitally beat someone while others watch without intervention. What does that say to the morals of our society? If it was an adult or a police officer beating another person, society would cry out of injustice. Life ,attends, no matter who did the crime. The three girls all planned it, watched and allowed it to happen. Yes, they will be haunted by it, but the sad fact is, an innocent person died as a result of their behavior and that behavior must be punished and the laws should be equally enforced. Family court, manslaughter?! Really? So we are saying they are just kids and it is ok, what a message to send to our young adults in this country. The fact is a prescious life was lost and the blood is on all their hands. It was premeditated. They should all be tried as adults all all go to jail for murder.

  • P. Shaw - 8 years ago

Even though I voted yes I really feel that the punishment should be the same for all three. A child lost her life a mother lost her daughter because of these girls. They need to understand that voilence is not the answer. My prayer will be that they will learn from this that they did not give life so they have no rightto take it away.

  • DARLENE - 8 years ago

All three girls should be tried as an adult. All three planned to cause harm to this young lady and all three should be held accountable for their actions. I feel sorry for all the families of these girls. But I want justice for Amy Joyner Francis and all the other kids that have been bullied in school. My question also is what has Howard principal and faculty done to make sure this tragedy doesn't happen again on their watch. To Amy's family, may God continue to comfort you at this difficult time, sorry for your loss.

  • JM - 8 years ago

All three girls should be charged equally, if the coroner ruled that she died of a cardiac event, since there's nothing to say whether the stress or the physical blows contributed more significantly. That said, while the charges are seemingly lenient, would it not be a graver injustice if they aggressively charged them with murder but the coroner's report caused a jury to find them innocent? I would rather see charges that will stick, than another guilty person walk free because the state failed to substantiate its case.

  • Kak - 8 years ago

All 3 should be tried as adults for Murder the two that filmed are just as guilty. Very dangerous girls hope they get locked up. They planned to hurt her and actually filmed it!!

  • Gerry - 8 years ago

Justice is not being served. 3 people got together and planned then executed a severe assault on a teen aged girl. The maximum they will serve is a joke. With good behavior two will serve less than 6 months, and the ring leader with good behavior maybe 3 years. Way to go Murdertown.
This is why there is so much violence in the city. There is no punishment or accountability.
If you take a deliberate action that results in a person's death, it is murder. If you help in that action you are as guilty as the person throwing the punches.
Justice will eventually be served to these bullies. Either Karma, or the father/uncles of the victims taking action. It definately won't be served by the justice department. I know what I would do if she were my daughter.

It is also interesting to note that BLM threatened the justice department to ensure murder was not a charge. Seems Black Lives Matter does not care if a person of color killed another person of color.

  • Jo'van Cromartie - 8 years ago

They need to get more time. And all of them should be tried as adults

  • James Mckinney - 8 years ago

First let me start by saying . can we please leave the blm out of this , and discuss this atrocity . I agree completely that these charges seem very meager, it is ridiculous . I think all three girls should be charged equally. if they robbed a store together they'd all be charged equally. and just to make it clear the reason we don't see any protesters and marchers are because in this country there is rarely a problem convicting or charging blacks that commit crimes against other blacks or any other race. so lets stay focused on the problem at hand . the light charges these girls seem to be getting . But at least they are being charged , and not going on as if nothing has happened.

  • Mike - 8 years ago

well, it's Delaware... it's Wilmington... it's Killmington... A place to Kill somebody... What a bad town it is... never liked to be in that town... you please stay away... No wonder why all big corporates not want to expand business and going away from the town...

  • BLM is a joke - 8 years ago

All three girls were involved. Although the other two didn't hit her, they stopped her from getting away. To me that is considered accomplices.
This is the United states and the concept of people today is unbelievable

  • Annette - 8 years ago

God bless all families involved and serve justice as you see fit teach these children that they can not take some one else's life Amen

  • will never change - 8 years ago

BLM stated if they wee charged 1st degree they would have a problem with that. To me BLM is combined of parents who have children that are bullies, parents of children who are incarcerated for jail, murder, and/or drugs. These are the people who make up BLM. This is there way of dissolving their anger from themselves to others. Dissolving their blame for themselves and feed it to others. Yes there has been racism in the court system, but each case should be isolated. Don't tell me that a known drug dealer, a known murderer that never got caught, a known gang member who has taunted and held their neighborhood hostage by their crowd of hoodlums received an un fair sentence or died in police custody.
BLM forgot about the victims who received abuse from these hard core criminals for years. BLM forgot about the children who are afraid to walk to school because the hoodlums have protection with BLM.
I say, that my child and all the other children who face violent situations walking to school. Their lives matter to me. The elderly couple who is afraid to sit on there porch because of the hoodlums in their neighborhood. That couples lives matter to me. The homeowner who faces hoodlums as there next door neighbors, as everyday they dump trash and drug paraphernalia in their yard and dare the home owner to say something. That home owners lives matter to me.
These girls got off to light, and all it does it show these kids today that you get a smack on the hand when you do violence in America in the inner cities, because its the systems fault. All these kids who are doing the right thing, doesn't matter that they worked hard and sacrificed. If your child does murder, its the systems fault.

This has to be some kind of sick joke. Justice system disappoints me as it is and this is certainly a miscarriage of justice. What do you have to do to get convicted and charged in DE? It shows it was planned and 8 years is a joke, even if she serves it, she will be what 24? when she gets out and can carry on with her life, get married, have kids etc. Where's the justice?

  • concept of america - 8 years ago

Look at the United states, mothers of murderers hold conferences and rallies to shorten sentences for murderers, drug dealers, child molesters etc.
The system is blamed for everything they do. But what about right and wrong. The concept of respect and human life. If these murderers never got caught, would they stop. If these drug dealers never got caught, would they stop. If these gangs who taunt, disrespect, abuse your property, litter on your property and dare you to say something. Where are those same mothers when their kids throw trash in your yard, disrespect your property, taunt, and do violent acts to innocent children. Where were those same mothers who rally for their children in jail when there child was shooting and killed an innocent child.
Instead of these mothers rallying for their children in jail. They should be rallying to educate other parents who have violent children to offer them help with their violent child. Or create awareness groups. That would be the right thing to do.

with as usual black on black crimes there are no protest no riots no looting no AL & JESSE but we all know if these 3 ghetto rats were white what would be going on right now don't we...

There has been more school violence than ever before. The police did not look at the possible school records. Is this the first time these girls got in trouble. Have they been bullying other kids before this. Have they been taunting and abusing other kids in that school. These all play a part in their sentencing. Most black schools do not report major incidences, in my city it is barely reported with the school district itself. Major incidences stay with the schools, or the school district will attempt to hide past records of these violent kids, because they don't want to lose the funding and they don't want their school to be targeted as a violent school.
This is the sick mentally of schools in general in the United States. United States is the worse and on the bottom when it comes to education versus other countries. Even third world countries have a better education system. Countries that were at first considered uneducated countries with un educated leaders are now doing better in their education system than we are. Because we in the United States have the worse concept and mind frame in the entire world when it comes with doing the right thing, or just letting it blow under the table.

Stop using her heart as an escape goal, she would be still here if they had never hit her or put her in the situation that they did. Anybody in their right mind knows that stress brings on a heart attack, and that was a lot of stress before it happened and during the attack because I know they called her, harassing her which brought it on from the start, she might had been having heart pain from them harassing her before all of this took place and not paying it no mind. So I do not know how you can come up with something like that, never in my life heard of such. What does her heart problem has to do with somebody beating on her which cost her heart to fail. This is what's wrong with these kids today, they do not get enough of a hard punishment to show them that they are wrong to take somebody else's life or do wrong doings period. I have a son that is doing 15 years for a home invasion, did not have a gun got the same charges as the other boys that had the guns, Yes I was saddened by it but if you do the crime you look to do the time. So I do not know how they are getting off scot free like that. It should be if you are in the crime together do the time together, they knew what was going to happen the day before, I want through the same thing with my daughter at Howard, girls not liking her because she was nice looking and had long hair, but thank god I did not have to go through this. Believe me they wanted to hit her, and if she last long enough they would had. They all should be tried as adults. God bless her parents. And I cannot believe the law, that they are saying because of her heart, please be for real, like I said if they had never touched her she would be here and you already said that with contributing factor of physical and emotional stress due to physical assault and planned the assault in the 20 hours prior to the attack and repeatedly hit her in the head and torso. She was fine before they did it. So don't use her heart as an excuse. What if it was your daughter, that is not here today, to say to you "Good morning mom or dad, or Good night mom or dad, or can you say to her "How was your day Amy. You are really making yourself look really foolish, think about it, and let me know how you feel.

Where is the outcry for justice from BlackLivesMatter?
Where are the ususal reverends who swoop in for publicity when a black life is taken?
Where are the fathers of all those who participated in this murder and all those who watched?
Where were the teachers and administrators while this crowd was fighting and filming in the bathroom?

  • Travis - 8 years ago

All three of the girls planned the assault which resulted in her death. If she wasn't assaulted she would have not had the heart attack at that time. The main girl should be charged with 1st degree murder and the other girls charged with conspiracy to commit murder. I can't believe no other students stepped up to stop this! Unbelievable! This just goes to show how fucked up our justice system is. Maybe someone made the ME state that cause of death or got to him. Just like "Elvis died of a heart attack" and Prince "didn't take drugs" this world is crazy!

  • Cherie - 8 years ago

I agree they knew exactly what they were doing and these girls didn't think they were going to get caught. All 3 were involved and all need to be charged in as adults 8 years is not enough try 25-30 she is a danger to society I would fight if this was my child killed I wouldn't let it go this easy.

  • Yolanda - 8 years ago

This was a brutal school fight and it was wrong. Clearly. How many of you remember school fights in your youth or perhaps participated in one? I don't believe any of the teens involved intended for Amy to lose her life as a result of their actions. This will forever haunt them. These children should absolutely see consequences. Is prison the answer?

  • Annette - 8 years ago

They planned this attack and should spend more years in prison. They are pathetic ignorant murderers who caused the death of a person. There should be tougher penalties to deter future acts of this nature.

It's truly sad that another young significant life has, once again, been taken. This young lady had so much to live for, and now, we'll never know what path she could have taken to as an adult. My heart goes out to her family. As a christian, I must have compassion, also, for those who took her life. All I can do at this point, is pray for all them and their families that senseless, violent acts like this will come to an end much sooner rather than later. May God bless all the loved ones of these young ladies, particularly Amy's family.

  • Kim - 8 years ago

Any one who watched the fight knew it was going on and did not say anything should be charged with murder as well and anyone who lured her in the bathroom or knew that this girl was doing something that she had no business doing that young lady they should be charged as well with murder as adults someone could have went to get a teacher or somebody in that school to stop them from doing that this is a perfect time to use day them as examples what is craziness that's going on because evidently their parents don't know what to do with their children that was pre-meditated They knew what they were doing

  • Kelly pearman - 8 years ago

For the people that are voting know that these girls don't deserve punishment are you out of your mind what if it was your child wouldn't you want Justice but then again the ones that are voting now or probably school kids and don't know the meaning of what has really happened health condition or not the girl did not deserve what she got and she's with God right now and the other angels cuz she I didn't know her personally but she looks like an angel and like a very decent human being and I'm sure that she is very sorely missed

  • Heather - 8 years ago

If Amy had a heart condition then she damn sure didn't need no assistance from the other females to take her life. Eight years is not enough how about fifteen with some probation, community service, a tribute, and your sorry. They planned it for twenty whole hours, unbelievable.

  • jan - 8 years ago

No. All 3 should be charged with 1st degree murder. Pre-meditated and malicious.

  • Jeanette waynick - 8 years ago

I feel like they all 3 should be tried as an adult, emotional abuse is just as bad as physical abuse, they all deserve corporal punishment by ways of maximum prison time.

The bitch who did the hitting should be charged with second degree murder, and the other two bitches should be charged as accessories to second degree murder; and they should all be charged as adults. This was a senseless murder, and they are just getting slapped on the hand? I guess Delaware is up there with Florida for states to get away with murder.

If the girl, Amy, was minding her own business and was subjected to terroristic threats, that should be a separate charge. If they followed her for the purpose of doing bodily harm, then they intentionally were stalking her, and that should be a separate charge. If for no provocation, they decided to beat her and film it, for the purpose of entertainment, then that should be an added aggravated charge. If they conspired to physically beat her, then conspiracy should be a separate charge. If they struck her and by doing so it contributed to her death then the charge probably should have been manslaughter. If it is done in and any where within the proximity of an educational institution that should be an aggravated or enhanced charge. All of these charges if found guilty should be served consecutively, to set an example. If you want to terrorize, and disturb the peace and tranquility of an educational institution then you should be sent to prison for many, many., years. That way the message will be, that you do not create anarchy and fear through intimidation in and around educational institutions, depriving the society of its ability to develop the full intellectual capacity of its next generation which appears to be the case in too many urban environments. So this incident should have been good for somewhere between 30-40 years in consecutive time. Sentencing a wannabe bully to 8 years simply becomes an act of a rights of passage in the peer group they desire recognition and does not discourage the conduct adequately on a mass audience level, whereas broadcasting knowledge of a potential hard 40 for such conduct probably will. It's worth a try, in my opinion.

  • Ed - 8 years ago

Based upon the information supplied, the charges seem appropriate. The charges list what the maximum time for the sentences. I'm betting not one of these individuals serves the max.

  • Lori Pendleton - 8 years ago

UNBELIEVABLE. 1ST DEGREE MURDER SHOULD BE THE CHARGE.

  • Walt - 8 years ago

Not even close to enough time ! They all conspired and their actions took a life, they should all be tried as adults. I'm surprised they didn't have a gun. 20 years apiece would be a good start with no chance for parole, they're old enough to know right from wrong !

  • Robert - 8 years ago

We live in a nation of laws, each state is different. Sadly, the charges seem lenient but they are what the law will allow for charges. If you are not happy with the laws it is up to the public to have those laws changed. The government is allegedly working for the people, but we the people need to come together to have things changed. It is a travesty that this girl who was going to do good in the world died. It is said, only the good die young.
