Vote no on all the school budgets no matter where you live. enrollments are down but budgets go up all for pensions and for the insane pay for administrators. Oh and read the increases in the health insurance. Read the fine print of the budget and you will and should vote no. And another thing why do the schools own and maintain a fleet of busses? Why not contract that away. Vehicles are depreciating assets why are the schools not investing in the education of those few students in the system than in busses and pension generating maintenance staff . How about figuring out a way to reduce the budget like most corporate entities do instead of increasing it every year.

ASD failed one of my children as well leading my child to drop out also. If theses"professionals" would have listened to me as the parent, my child would have graduated. Instead they ignored us, the special ed teacher Mrs Matthews kept comparing my child to hers which bore nothing worthy other than to insult my child. All the other years my child did great!! Except with her which leaving my child to feel he had no other alternative than to drop out- she needs to be fired. Yet ASD leaves teachers as her in place instead of taking the child's best interest into action!! Teachers in Dutchess county make more than any other county in nys. Some are great, some aren't. Base their salary upon the teachers success of each student and we will have better teachers - and our kids will get what they deserve, an education!! And we will get what we pay for thru so much in taxes!!

Don't worry . You hit the nail on the head ASD failed one of my children she was rushed through school until 11th grade when me and my wife asked them to keep her back as she was struggling for years. There response she will be fine now she dropped out of school. Regular people have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet . AND YES YOYU ARE RIGHT THERE IS A LOT OF FAVORITISM AMONG TEACHERS VOTE NO. If any one deserves a raise it is the custodians. maintenance workers and bus drivers. SO FED UP

More bloat and waste this year as it is every year. Overpaid, underworked administrators with ridiculous benefits and packages. Teachers, many of whom have given up the thought of educating students now simply play along to satisfy the administrators and the ignorant parents whose only hope is their kid will not surpass their own level of intelligence. I have friends who teach and now regret going into the filed of education. Students sleeping in class, playing in their phones, coming to class unprepared if at all, parents with the belief it is the teacher's job to make sure their kids get all A's while they have taught no sense of responsibility, effort, or achievement. We are raising a generation of ignorant, lazy do nothings being told they are all just special. And the taxpayers as always foot the bill. Schools should not be run by school boards filled with members who have their own personal agenda and goals. Educating kids is never one of those. One teacher Imknow was instructed to change a student's grade because their parent was on the board! But that is routine practice when kids are pushed along through the system finishing as dumb as when they started. BILLIONS wasted each year and the finished product can't stand up on their own two feet in most cases. And the voters don't bother to vote on budgets or board member elections and the result is more of the same. The education system is a dismal failure. Just ask the recent college grads who when asked, thought Judge Judy say on the U.S. Supreme Court! Now there was some money well spent!

I'm voting no this year like I have for the past 22 years. I got a letter from the town telling me my house was re assessed from 245.000.00 down to 218.000.00 but i have to continue paying taxes on the higher amount.
What? are you kidding me? I don't think so. Time to sell and get out. Let some other sucker get hosed.

The Hyde Park school district does not get it. Carla stated many of the things wrong with the district. I want to add the budget for The Board of Education. With a minimum of members, they rank in the highest for spending. Start by cutting the Board's budget and go from there.

I'd like just once for a school district to fall back on its contigency budget. The hollow threats are always the same.....elimination of sports, arts and music, field trips. Malarkey.
