Magan while many can agree it may be good for local businesses (in the short term), it is certainly not the only area that the Militarization of Guam will have a major impact on. One must also educate the local people about the societal, cultural, and environmental impacts this major military relocation will have on the island . Look at the relationship between the US Military and the Okinawa, Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian), Korean, Philippine communities and educate yourself on the dire concerns of the local people. Look at our long history with the US Military and educate yourself about the exploitation, pollution, and contamination of our island. Look to current events such as the planned destruction of Pågan to the north, confiscation of Ritidian from the public, and the beaching of whales coinciding with US Military training operations. Educate yourself about the big picture, short term, and long. Educate yourself and the formulate your personal opinion based on actual knowledge of the issues at hand rather than what is spoon fed to you by our local media outlets.
