OMG! These guys are killing me with these comments. I never played with Jose, Greg, or Kevin. Tapani or Barry.

I'm sure the records and available statistics are not recorded for the year 1962 because one of Pennfield's great pitchers Rick Wells threw several no hitters and a perfect game in the Spring of 1962. Rick also played first base and hit .475 for the season. Rick went on to play and coach in the Battle Creek City Leagues. I know and remember as I caught those high school games at Pennfield.

I am guessing by his comment that Jeff Kaiser must be one of the stat leaders?

Shepard was the only one of the bunch who didn't juice up with me in the clubhouse. My votes for Shep.

    I voted no Jimmy

I think we all need to just have fun with this and not get to uptight. All 10 of these players were great at Pennfield without a doubt and I could name 30 more off the top of my head who easily could and maybe should be on the list. Pennfield baseball has a great tradition and will continue to do so. Congratulations to these 10 and thank you to the 3 coaches Jim Ledbetter, Dave Hudson, and Rob Moran for what I am guessing has been about 50 plus years of coaching all of us. As for me I will always be very proud that I tied for the 11th best player in Pennfield Baseball History :) Go Green!!

G.O.A.T??? GOAT in semi pro?? Is there even such a thing. This is a waste of my time. This is almost as bad as voting for who is the best bunter of all time. They don't vote on that because nobody cares because it's a bunt.

Shep taught me the point out to call my shot move. That guy can rake.

  • JEFF KAISER - 7 years ago

A lot, I mean a lot of good names not on this list. Must be some old school guys choosing the names. No moneyball names on this list. Wonder if Enquirer could post the all time stat leaders for each category for each local team, then the public could make a better informed choice for all time best player.

  • Kevin Tapani - 7 years ago

Doug Booher is the best pitcher ever to come out of Pennfield. I'd rather paint the outfield fence maroon then to have to face Doug on the mound.

  • Greg Maddux - 7 years ago

I faced Greg Shepard in the minors. Bottom 9, bases loaded, tie ball game. I had to Walk him. I would rather give up 1 earned run than 4.

  • Sammy Sosa - 7 years ago

I'd vote for Shepard but he has posted 52 times on Facebook how he is the GOAT so I will vote for Cam Bortell instead. Plus he is Russ's kid and Russ is a great dude. Haha

Greg Shepherd is awesome. Excellent baseball player, wonderful human being, very giving in nature !

  • Barry Bonds - 7 years ago

Reminds me of Tim Tebow power wise
