Unless there crime had something to do with voter fraud why wouldnt they be allowed to vote? Theyve paid there debt.If you dont want them to vote then dont make them pay taxes either,seems to me taxation without representation fits here.
I say yes, should a person who makes a mistake when they are 18 pay all his life for it? They say he paid his debt, but he has not. He has a hard time getting a job or can not get a job and now for the rest of his life you want to take away his right to vote? We are setting these people up to never have a decent life. I think we would have less return felons if we just had work programs that worked for these people. They need help not all their rights taken away after their time is done.
There are several ways to view this....a lot of the time the person never did what they are being accused of anyway. Innocent poor people are arrested and have no money to defend themselves and are used as the "bad guy" so law enforcement appears to be working. Or if the one with money is caught red handed performing a crime, they pay their way out-the result criminals voting! Please people wake up!
They should totally be allowed to vote. Maybe not while they're IN prison, but after they are out, definitely! If the law wants to make demands on it, perhaps they cannot vote while they are on parole, but when all of their debt to society has been paid, they should most definitely regain their rights to vote. They have enough taken away from them. I have a cousin who lost his right to hunt due to a gun charge attached to his felony. He was not even near the gun when the crime was committed, but someone in his group was. He lost his favorite hobby because of it. Why take away his American right and privilege as well. Finding a job is hard enough for these people as they get out of prison and try to re-enter society. Maybe part of the reason these people don't seem to be rehabilitated is because they come out here and try to rejoin society and find work, and it's nearly impossible. Then they return to things that were easier for them. It's sad. Please don't take away more of their rights & freedoms!

I think that it is wrong to take away a felons right to vote. They are still citizens of this country and they still have to pay taxes like everyone else. They are already denied jobs because of the fact that they are a felon, which I don't agree with either because if they are unable to obtain a job they are more then likely going to go back to doing crimes after they complete their sentence.
I believe that felons should be allowed to vote, and my reasoning is this; some, not all I understand, are completely different when they are released. Some felons change while they are incarcerated, for the better and they do the right thing. I think that the right to vote should be reinstated a year or two after their release, under the conditions that they do not acquire any other charges from being arrested.
Absolutely not, why should they vote. They already have more rights than the law abiding citizens. We pay to float their boat and can barely float our own. They should think twice about what they do and. They don't need incentives after prison. well maybe help....
Convicted felons should be allow to vote, they are allow to work and their tax money is help paying the goverment workers salariers.
I believe that once felons especially with lower degree felonies have served their sentences and paid their debt to society that the judical system sentenced them to that felons should be allowed to vote just like everyone else.

Yes they should be allowed to vote, they are still a U.S. Citizen aren't they?? This is nonsense!! A felon may be required to serve only 2-3 years but in reality this world gives them a life sentence and continues to judge them. For example them returning to the job force is a hundred times harder than the average person. Oh I forgot they are suppose to come out of prison reformed...hahaha You don't reform people when the guards at prisons are the biggest criminals and get by with it, inmates are treated like animals instead of humans and Governor Kasich is well aware of the abuse and mistreatment in our prisons and everybody continues to just pretend it isn't so!!!
My brother was convicted of a drug related felony in high school, guess what? He's in his mid 30s and still doing the same crap he was back then. Hasn't changed one bit!!!!
Sorry but I'm NOT okay with felons voting until they can show that they have actually changed!!! AND I'll never be okay with violent felons regaining their right to vote!!!
Lets get real . How about we clutter up the court systems further reviewing all the felons cases so they may have a opportunity to vote . This sounds like another great Idea right out of the Obama camp.
I think it should be part of their parole. Aren't they supposed to be rehabilitated and made "into model citezens"? This is what would enforce that.
Yes I think they should be allowed to vote after serving their time. They do have to pay taxes... They should be allowed to say who controls them and how they are distributed.
I think felons should be allowed to vote after the have served all their time and if they have any fines to pay i think should pay at least half before they are allowed to vote.
