Reportedly, they were suspended with pay !! with pay !! If AirCanada tried to punish them further then wildcat Personally i think the federal con' party is screwing with air canda situation in a perverse way to kill the company off similiar to what they did to the loco plant (a the large negative impact to 450 directly related households, plus at taxpayers expense, ref. the prev. nonrefundable subsidy ) !
It is unfortunate that the sky waitresses and the bag lifters do not feel properly compensated for their jobs but more unfortunate that they do not realize that they are hideously overpaid now, let alone deserving an increase. What are they doing this year that they were not doing last year to warrant the increase - easy question - nothing.
They should consider taking their awesome job experience to the open market where doubtless their true worth would be exposed. We are all familiar with the attitudes and service offered by the air Canada sky waitresses and bag lifters and most people now avoid air Canada like a bad smell. Hopefully this foolishness will be the death blow to this albatross and we can be rid of this horrid airline once and forever.
They can strike as much as they want but not under my expence, what if I would go to srike and they won't get paid to pay their mortgaged etc. Complete disrespect!
I think AC workers have bit the hands that feed them. Customers are frustrated and will move to other airlines. If enough us do that, their next labour dispute will be over layoffs.
This is what happens when the government sticks its nose in where it doesn't belong. I guess the market is only free unless the government finds it inconvenient.
