I just don't think about whatever it is that's making me nervous. I try to plan things that will make me nervous to far ahead to worry about or not too far ahead so I don't have to think about it. I do not like talking to a small group of people. Large audiences may make me nervous but once I'm up and talking or singing it's all good. With the small groups (like my speech class in college), you can see everyone and just how bored they seem to be with you. I found the best way is to try to find someone who looks interested and mainly focus in on them. You still make eye contact with others, but this one person is your anchor and can help you feel confident enough to keep going.
