Should baseball take a harder stance against pitchers who hit batters?

Hamel's an idiot for admitting it was intentional. Getting hit is part of the game, but hitting a batter intentionally, then there should be a suspension. But how do you tell a wild pitch from an intentional pitch?

Hell ya !! They should banned him for at least one season so he won't do that again , if he thinks
he is a good pitcher he should pitched to him not hitting him ,cole hamel is overrated

Let's take Don Drysdale, Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, Whitey Ford and Gaylord Perry out of the Hall of Fame. Didn't each of these great pitchers admit to the same thing as Hamel's did? It's Baseball!!!! Ask James Earl Jones!!!!

Let the players police themselves. It has worked out just fine for more than a century. Leave tradition alone.

Violence makes this boring sport a bit fun.

One can waive civil rights, but not criminal rights.

This is an assault, and the pitcher should be sent to prison, as the law requires.

Baseball has a big enough problem trying to catch up with the number 1 sport of "Football" ; gee it was the other way around for decades, wasn't it? Now we are starting to see the underside of the game being brought to the top for everyone to see. Fines of substantial amounts, not pocket change, will make them think about such bush-league antics or larger numbers of games or in the cases of pitchers number of starts in the location and money to go with it. To harsh, then move over for those who want to play the game as it is suppose to be played...maybe the fans will come back!

they should be suspened for a min. of one month. seond offenece, two months, third time' one year withot pay.

a one-game suspension is enough unless the pitcher blatantly clocks someone around his head. i can't really understand why hamels felt like he needed to introduce harper to the big leagues by clocking him. a fine depending on the circumstance would be okay. at least hamels admitted it.
