I haven't seen Bel Ami as it never came to Canada. Not a happy camper here!!
BUT, I did see Cosmopolis and I will see it again before it leaves theatres. Yes, the story is complicated and very layered. It will make you think. It will make you implode if you cannot discuss it with someone. It will not leave you. Can't wait for the DVD so I can dissect it at my command lol. I forgot that I was looking at Rob. I was captured into Eric's world. The last scene was riveting. All actors played their parts exceptionally well but Rob was just outstanding. There are no words. He is on so many acting levels above what we have come to know him for so far. Now I can completely understand why Cronenberg has been lauding him to all who will listen. For those who haven't seen it yet. Keep an open mind if you are haven't read the book, check out some good reviews to get a gist of the story. Remember that the last scene was done in just one take. It will blow you away. Enjoy!

I haven't seen Cosmopolis yet, but I have seen Bel Ami, and while I enjoyed Bel Ami, I am really looking forward to Cosmopolis. Of course, Rob is wonderful in Bel Ami, and is as hunky as usual, but the story is sort of thin. I expect, and have heard, that he is outstanding in Cosmopolis and that the story line is very complicated. Can't wait for it to hit Macon,Ga.
