Adrian Peterson's Nickname is AP not AD

  • CMS - 12 years ago

This is the only thing Mark Sanchez is capable of winning.

Silverback is by far the worst. Comparing the man to a Gorilla or the missing link is simply racist and out of line.

  • J.R. - 12 years ago

As far as I'm concerned, if I've never heard the player referred to by the nickname, it's not really a nickname and I can't vote for it. Therefore Sanchise is not the worst.

The Sanchise is the absolute worst, as clearly shown by the voters. The guy is a joke for a
QB and in no way a franchise quarterback. It's sad when people are already clammering for Tebow. You've hit a new low when you need him to be on your roster.
    Ellis Out......

Sorry Dave, Megatron is a good nickname, but the rest are pretty terrible. A.D. is probably the worst because you are taking the initials of a phrase instead of his actual name.

  • John - 12 years ago

LT is clearly the worst. It should have been LDT. There is already an LT and this isn't a shot at LaDanian, but Taylor was a god among men and having someone else with the same nickname is a slap in the face.

Megatron should not be on this list. Megatron is a giant robot that turns into a gun. Megatron is a name that is synonymous with dangerous unstoppable weapon.

  • Jonny - 12 years ago

CJ2K has to be the worst. Anytime your "nickname" has more syllables than your actual name it ceases to be a nickname.

  • Josh - 12 years ago

Clearly the worst are LT and A-Rod. There is only one real LT, and Tomlinson is not him. At least Rodgers is comparable in ability to the original and across sports. Also, everybody who voted for Megatron as the worst nickname clearly read the question wrong.

Worst? Peterson's "A.D." for All Day. Why? Because he's been in the league for years and people still can't get it right. Even NFL/ESPN talking heads consistently use "A.P." instead. When you have to constantly correct and explain a nickname to folks, it sucks.

  • John Wallace - 12 years ago

What the heck's wrong with James Harrison's "Silverback". That names been with him his whole career and perfectly describes that animal of a man.

    Ridiculous!

  • Scott D. - 12 years ago

Top 3 worst names on the list, Silverback, A.D., The Sanchise. A-rod and L.T. deserve honorable mention because they are recycled from other players which doesn't really make them their nicknames.

CJ2K and Megatron atleast describes the player they are nicknamed after.
