Do you agree with year-round schooling?

There are several factors which would have to be put in place. First our schools would have to be adequate to house children over the hottest months so air conditioning needs to be put in place. Secondly, all the curriculums for the entire system would have to be reworked. Lastly, the boards would have to figure out how to pay the extra money for salaries with the cuts they're making already. Would it give our children a better future? Maybe. Is the province (and in turn all of us) ready to pay for it? I hope so.

Kids are growing up too fast as it is. They need time to just be kids, to goof around and see what everything's about. Summer time is perfect for them to bond and develop. Leave it alone.

Teacher unions won't go for this. It will cut into cottage time!

if they make school all year round, kids will be more lazy then ever. they will begin to skip school more often and not want anything to do with the place, without the summer break and other vacations during the year the kids would go mentally insane. schools not an easy place for most kids... why make them go through something hard, when the education they recieve already is lengthy enough. plus, if this goes through, they'll never want a job, kids go to school to prepare for the real world, if they had full time school on top of part time jobs, they would go crazy... expecially toddlers.

Great idea, one adopted in most countries that out-perform us academically. I understand why people are afraid of change, but with year-round schooling you get just as much vacation time, just not all at once.
