SOME HOW WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THIS NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN ,TO PUT SPORTS ABOVE OUT YOUTH , CAN NOT BE CONDONED NO WAY WE NEED TO BE VERY HARD ON THESE SICK PEOPLE AND HARDER ON THEM THAT STAND BY AND DO NOTHING AND FOR ALL THE PEOPLE CRYING TO HARD NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK IT SEEMS YOU HAVE NO SONS IN SPORTS TO CARE ABOUT.

The penalty is too harsh in the sense that the loss of these dollars will mean tha thousands of deserving students will not be receiving scholarships and as a result many of them will not attend university. Punish the innocent but the good old NCAA does not worry about collateral damage. Shame on you.

    So true Mr Wallace,
It's the childern that won't for get this & they will never be the same even with years of counciling. Penn State should stop Football altogether, then they know what punishment is! Baseball anyone?

I was hoping for a loss of the football program to send a strong message, but the problem hopefully will be nipped in the butt because of these sanctions. The "football first" mentality has got to go....university is an education first, not sports. It's fine to pride yourself on sports, but if you don't put education first, problems like this and the issues in Miami will continue. Bravo to the NCAA for quick and strong punishment.

Good job, NCAA!!!! Those kids will never be the same and the whole thing was under the direct supervision of Penn State.
