It gave me the opportunity to vent
It helped me retell my life story in a more meaningful way
It helped me gain insight into my unhealthy (or self-sabotaging) patterns
It gave me ideas for new ways of coping and being in the world

It felt good to share my innermost thoughts with an empathic, thoughtful, non-judgemental other person
