Glad to see the autobins gone. However, these bins are so large, they encourage waste.

I live in Elmwood, with backlane collection and generally speaking smaller lots except for the Glenelm section, so YES, storing this huge things is going to be a problem. I do have a parking pad in back that I could leave them on but it is right on the lane so they would be only maybe 10 - 15 feet from the lane itself. I am concerned that being so close to the lane during the week they may walk away and according to the info supplied, I will be responsible for replacing it, on top of the continuing $50 a year user fee.
I live alone and my garbage is usually only part of a bag of landfill material. My recycle can sometimes be two boxes however. The neighbour on one side is the same and on the other side with 3 adults and 4 children they have 5 or 6 + bags never with recycle and I expect they will not be making any attempt to split it anyways regardless of the fancy boxes.
Seems like it is not the needs of the citizens that is being considered only what is convenient for the city.

Love the carts - but would like smaller options. We live in Wolseley and don't have a garage so have very little space for storage. There is no way we will even come close to using half of the garbage cart in a week - so we would like an option for a smaller garbage cart (half the size). The recycling cart is also quite huge for us - we just don't consume enough stuff to fill it - it takes about 3 weeks to fill it (the apartment block behind our house one same-sized cart for the entire building). So again for space savings we'd prefer a smaller cart.
Anyone else finding the carts too big?
