Do you approve of the replacement officials' performance in Week One?

Give me a break. I can't think of any year in the past decade that people weren't complaining about the refs. The refs might be slightly worse than the "regulars", but people are acting like every game in week one was decided by the "horrible" calls. It was week one! Yes I saw some bad calls, just like I've seen bad calls during week one of every season I've watched in the NFL. Like everything else in the world, the grass is greener on the other side. We'll have to wait and hope the glorious, perfect, and original referees come back to save our beloved NFL (extreme sarcasm)!

I am a 49er fan who really wanted to give the replacements the benefit of the doubt, but the officiating in the 49er-Packer game was truly bad. Actually I think the Packers got shafted on more calls than the Niners did, BUT the two blown calls against the 49ers resulted in two touchdowns. Without those two calls the game would have been a blow out. The two missed illegal blocks on the punt return, with the ref inexplicably picking up his flag, was the biggest error of the game, bbut the Niners were also called for pass interference in the end zone on a play that had more or less perfect defense, without anything even close to interference. True the Packers MIGHT have scored on that drive without the call, but we will never know.....

One more thing... I believe these refs can be "manipulated" easier by "external sources".
Also, with the amount of calls they went against the Saints, I wouldn't be surprised if Goddell has influence over these Reflacements. Especially after that news of the Saints suspensions being overturned. I bet that really pissed him off. And boy, wouldn't he hate it if the Saints were the 1st team to play @ home in a superbowl? hmmm

I'm sorry, I watched numerous games from this past weekend and noticed that the refs were either trigger happy with pass interference calls or blind to holds and illegal blocks.

I bet this weekend, every reciever with a defender in arms reach will fall over if they A) Can't get to a ball, or B) drop it. It happened less frequently Week 1, but now that recievers know these replacements are trigger happy, they're going to start flopping like soccer players.
Check out Harpers pass interference call on Robinson in the WAS/NO game. Prime example. And they made that call on a 4th and 1. Horrible. Things like that change the game. By the way... neither a Saints fan or Redskins fan here. Don't like either. But those calls are BS.

Give me a break. I think the officials were highly effective. Sure, bad calls were made, but the regular, seasoned officials make huge mistakes too. If not for these guys we would not be watching football at all. So, cut them some slack. Keep in mind, the same calls we are watching over and over and over because of the magic of TV, these officials get to see the play only once--unless it involves replay. Be thankful that we don't have to watch boring baseball.

    Thanks, refs.

Fans expect a high quality game from the players, coaches, and refs. The owners do not want to give in to the refs union. I feel it is simply a power play on their part. Is paying a ref $3000 a game going to bankrupt the league? Hell no. If the season continues, records should be identified with an asterisk noting that the games were reffed by officials who tried, but were not too good. Way too many errors!

This is a great example of dishonesty in polling. This writer has been bashing the replacements 95% of the time, and now he asks readers to grade the performance of all the replacements refs. He has attached this poll to an article designed to draw readers who are upset about their team losing, and whose franchise quarterback is critical of the refs.

Not exactly a serious attempt to get a representative cross-section of fans for the poll.

they were a joke in have of the games I watched. it seems like half of the officiating crews are doing a good job and the other half are a joke who should be let go and replaced. The nfl office can't be that blind and just hope that they will get better after time cause i for one won't watch football much longer with officiating like that. Its to much like watching pro wrestling !!

Arron Rogers is a class act. There were at least 10 screwed up call in that game. Classy because he really only pointed out when they made a call in GBs favor ... And he will show his mulitdementional. Qualities as he kicks. Little Bears butts this week ... Go Pack Go !
