This is awesome. There is no excuse for a child to have more than 10 days unexcused absence. Between the days the school is out, they are only in school about 200 days. Which is not a lot. Anything more than 10 is just sad. Every parent should strive for their child to have perfect attendance but things happen. This is going to crack down on those parents who not being responsible and I'm all for it!!! Way to go!!

The only people agreeing with this is someone who has not had to contend with assistance before because if they did, they would not make such a comment. WWJD. We have to feed the poor. We run ads all day long about feed the children, send shoes here and there and then ridicule the poor in America for being poor. How much more hypocritical can we be?

This is really silly. They could have came up with something better than this. You could just pass a law stating how long a person can be on assistance. A year and by time that year is over, you have to have a job. That would ensure people getting an education and a job. People are on welfare because it's available to them. Families with parents with severe learning disorders could stay on assistance and the severely disabled. Adults without children can only get assistance for six months and by then they better have some source of income. You just have to give people a reason not to be on it.

In life.....everyone must work to achieve, so it's real simple and point blank. The ideology is being productive to eat. Everyone needs to learn if you work, you eat. It is the parents job to go to work to provide for their families (ideally). So it should be a childs job to go to school and get good grades so eventually they can become a productive member of society and provide for their families. This is not abuse, rock science or nuclear physics.

I think that is unfair to do that. You have parents that working is on low income and they send the children's to school. But you have some kids who don't go to school but their parents thinking they are at school. You cant blame the parents who doing their best they can. Kids of today want to be grown and do what they want to do.
