Gas prices are soaring in California and could soon hit a new record. At what price would you give up your car and use alternative transportation?

L.A. is not a small area like N.Y. where mass transit systems work better. It's almost impossible to live in the SFV or SGV and take mass transit to areas south where most of the jobs are. If fuel does reach the $10 mark I will not give up my car but I will drive less and consume less. I cannot get around L.A. County without one, it's just not feasible. Hopefully we will regulate the business but I wont hold my breath for someone in politics to do the right thing, but I will vote for Romney because the present executive is not fulfilling a great majority of his promises and I have been out of work for over 3 yrs without receiving replies to submitted resumes.

We got what we voted for, boutique gas blends, no new refineries and the silly bullet train to nowhere. Sadly it will take $10 gas for the voters in this state to wake up. Hopefully, the rest of the country will vote Romney.

Giving up my car is not an option unless I moved. I have seriously cutback on my driving to the point where I only drive to work and the gym. All needed shopping I do enroute to or from those locations.

If I give up my car I have to give up working at my two jobs. I'll loose my home and have to live on welfare... I've tried for over 2 years to get a job I don't have to drive so far for, but can't even get an interview anymore.

I believe that AB 32 has something to do with these high prices. This is what happens when goverments over-regulates economies; everybody suffers with high prices. We have no one to blame but ourselves for our predicament. We failed to pass a ballot measure would have overturned this law, but we uphelped this misguided law.
