and on the other hand if they're really that desperate why not bring in t.o, ochocinco, and plexico all at the same time, but with a worthless offensive coordinator like tony sparano nothing will get accomplished, there's a reason he's not the dolphins coach anymore!!!
chris - 12 years ago
the jets offense may be a mess, but i dont think t.o. is the answer. i think they should go get plexico back he already knows the ssystem for the most part and the players and didnt have too bad of a season there last year. why bring the t.o circus in and make things worse then they already are and you know it will happen, there were reports of him being the " old t.o." in seattle why bring that to new york?
MrHarper - 12 years ago
The Jets are a mess. Their offense is herendous. T.O. and/or Chad Ocho couldn't hurt at all. They need to make some kind of move. Jason Hill? Really? Miss everybody with the bullshxt and bring some talent in. Or at least use Tebow more ... Sparano is not very good at utilizing his players. He brought the Wildcat, Yippee! =/ Rex, Tony better get it together or they'll both be headed out the door, together.
Stugots - 12 years ago
Players are wearing Pink this month to fight Cancer....Why do you want to bring Cancer to the locker room.
kern - 12 years ago
Cromartie is currently their best receiver...bring in T.O, AND the artist formerly known as Ochocinco.
Tammy - 12 years ago
Rex and the Jets should be open to the idea of Terrell Owens. He was a great receiver and God knows they REALLY NEED RECEIVERS who can catch a danged football. I feel bad for Mark Sanchez. His numbers for incomplete passes are terrible this season; yet it is not due to his passes! He needs receivers and with Santonio Holmes out and others on the injured list, what can it hurt? Let TO be their HAIL MARY!!!
lisa - 12 years ago
Poet and activist, Nikki Giovanni (2011), acknowledged in her speech to the Hokies of VT and the world, that "We are better than we think, and greater than we will ever be!"
I believe that T.O. can be a great Jets receiver. I think while on his hiatus from being around other people that shared his goals and dreams, now is the time for him to prove how much of a great team player he is as well as receiver.
LOL @chad ochocinco. I think either of you would be a great choice for the team. I think everyone learns from their mistakes, and I think T.O. would be a wonderful choice for any team at this point in his life. Everybody deserves a second chance, especially when other forces of nature, like when one takes things such as their skills for granted this can happen; it can happen to any of us. This often makes them feel like nothing can touch them. All it takes is for someone to take that happiness away from them just once, for them to realize they will miss this good thing when it is gone. So given the chance for this deal, everyone will say "IT'S THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIMES!!" I truly feel you both have learned your lesson.
I think when you say circus, that's what people hope for. This would be a win-win situation for all involved. It will cause a rise in ticket sales, (revenue any team could use) and it will get them more t.v. time, because everyone will be talking about another spectacular catch that T.O made in the top ten plays, Shoot he may become 5 outta 10 of them. He is a great player, that is one thing that ---nobody can deny.
I hope if he is chosen he proves every hater wrong about his "real attitude" and the "real man" that he is and on the other hand proves himself right, and revert back to that fine young man he was raised to be!! Good luck young man, I hope that you get the job.

I have been a JETS fan since 1969, my grandfather left me this legacy. I have been waiting for years to see the JETS be a force to reckon with and just when it seemed that the long wait was over the JETS melt down. I love my JETS and I vote to have TO added to the JETS roster. Rex can handle him and we need a go to recevier, now not next year. TO can get open, he can catch the ball and we need the kind of swagger he can bring to the team. I think he is older and more mature and now sees that teams will not put up with his past child like antics. Lets give TO a chance. If we do not then we need to look for several free agents. The bottom line is we have to make a move and soon. I am not trying to be the coach of the JETS, however making some changes seems to me to be a no brainer. I have heard it said that insanity is doing the same thing, looking for different results. Lets think out the box and do somethng different, at least do something.

this guy is done he has been cut by three teams retire my son and enjoy the life has randy moss caught any balls in sanfran?
I think Terrell should be given a chance to make the team with the jets. I think if the guy can still perform at the level of this game why not? I know he made some bad mistakes along his professional career, but that was the past! Tell you the truth Jerry Jones shouldn't given up so easy on him! In Dallas it's not about the team, but the owner only selfish dog! The NFL have changed throughout the years hiring younger players and allowing them to end up on the starting roster over old Vets.. Sooner or later woman will have on pads and I'm not talking about maxi instead full gear wanted to be a star under the lights.. I say let them since they don't know when to take a sit where they belong! This is a man sports not meant for woman ,but don't say that out loud sssh!!! buttom line allow T.O. to play again sometimes a real player knows what they can and cannot do! Put him in coach he's ready to play!
David - 12 years ago
they the Jets will need to add someone, standing pat is not going to get the job done, they need weapons to contend with the Pat's as they have to play them two times. other wise say goodbye to the division, the year, the fans, the coach and maybe even the GM.
A. Ferguson - 12 years ago
I think TO will be great for the Jets. He adds that BIG reciever and experience to a team in which the Jets DONT have any, he can help that young QB (Sanchez). TO didnt look bad in Seattle all the clips that I seen on TV, he still had the cornerbacks beat on routes he was a little rusty hand wise but hes an experience All Pro that can be fixed with practice. The Jets or any team that need a widereceiver couldnt go wrong with putting TO on there team, REMEMBER contract wise its a game to game situation

MY HIGHSCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM COULD BE THE SORRY ASS JETS

The Jets are stuck in a casket under a rock already buried deep underground and don't have a key to unlock it. The only thing that could make the jets worse, is ignoring T.O. Who cares what he does off the field!! WHO CARES?!?!?! At least he has "done it 'on the field' before!" He rocked the house with the orange cats a few years ago before he got hurt. Give him a shot and if you don't like him, best case scenario is he'll get injured after 2 games anyway. Stop hatin and start playin! Ugh so annoying that he isn't playing somewhere.
Rick - 12 years ago
Give him a shot. If he still offers talent (and I believe he does) then stop blackballing the guy.
People expect this man to be a role model, heck he's just figuring things out personally. Not every great athelete is a great role model. He seems to have more appreciation for the talent he's been blessed with. He should have the opportunity to use it. Let's not judge and talk about what T.O. or anybody else doesn't deserve (start with the "man" in the mirror).
Make it happen.

jets need improvement in so many areas... off line, def secondary and qb. so unless owens is going to make improvements in all areas listed, why bother. wait till draft day. been a long time jets fan and the team has become so predictable. big third down play and if they pic it up most of the time it will be coming back cause of penalty. hate to admit but im waiting for a qb like brady or manning someone whos a student of the game. revis was the only jet player who could be considered a guru at his position. all the rest hover around average. thats my thoughts please pass this along to ryan and rest of jets team

If T.O. has a positive attitude about the game (which he does), and he can manage to keep all the out-side drama, (baby mama's), out-side; which I think he can also, because they want a payday as well as he does! And he does nothing but pull for the 'team', as a whole, and not just for himself. . .he is the perfect choice for the JETS. Good-luck, T.O., a fan of yours; who wants to make it happen for you!

Whether a circus or what kind of show it is, is it not entertainment? Are the jet trying to win in this crazy game we 50 plus men with busted up old knee just wish we could play one more time.
However I grown to love the athletic ability of T.O. when he when to the Eagles, but when he got to Dallas and had that great year with Romo but was the scapegoat for Tony who was really the bigger head case and every since I believe because of Donovan who is out the league as he called the Quarterback out for lack of heart. So it did not help when Philly did not give Owens the contract he deserved, as they almost made the same mistake with Jackson and look at his play in 2011 compared to 2010.
Owens is a clown but he bring the little clown car to work, and let put into perspective that he played in 15 season and has had 1078 catches and only 54 drop! That 3.6 drops per year and this guy is bad? Get the player on the field and coaches coach. Coach Ryan needs to go back to being crazy himself so that team can start winning again!
Shoeman8 - 12 years ago
If the jets want to salvage the season bring in T.O. They are 2-3 so not yet out. T.O seems to show he's been humbled and ready to play. I don't recall any real locker room incidents with the bills or the bengals. He looked ok with Seattle just a bad timed big drop, but seeing as how he was out of action for so long that should be forgiven. I also thought the last catch he made showed signs he's rounding back into form, and lets not forget that drop he beat the corner and got open. Sanchez is having some bad luck 0 weapons combined with his mental mistakes is not helping the jets! Bring in a weapon give him some confidence in that target and see what happens. Certainly can't hurt the jets! They lost by 6 last night to the undefeated texans, with some key drops... If they had Owens instead of hill.......
The JETS should sign T.O. He would try so hard to be a good teamate and player. Give him a chance.

problem in seattle is he had a couple of drops at the wrong time. assuming he gets over that, and returns to form, he would be a key to the passing game, also assuming he has learned to keep is mouth shut and not stick his foot in it. he has the knowledge and ability to not only help the passing game, but to teach of the other guys, and calm down the QB
