His forward progress was stopped well before the goal line. The second effort was after the whistle. ND wins. Get over it!

You poll a question about Notre Dame getting a fair call... on the Notre Dame network?

People hate ND, so they would say anything to down play our win!!! People need to stop being butt hurt because his elbow hit the ground and he was pushed forward. We won fair and square, if they don't like that, then maybe these people need to stop watching ND games!!! A bunch of sore losers!!

I would have liked to see a reply at regular speed with audio. By the way some of ND's defenders behaved, it seems the whistle had been blown. So the play stops and there is no TD. But if the whistle had not been blown and the ND players were prematurely celebrating, then Taylor's second/third effort got the ball into the end zone before he was down and it should have been ruled a TD.

Surprised at the lack of hate/whining so far...
It doesn't matter if the elbow was down or not, whether he had posession when the ball broke the plane or not. On replay, it has to be obvious. Video evidence was not compelling enough to overrule the call on the field. Period.

bad call on the td, and bad call on the personal foul that set up the tying td. And are the announcers paid by the Irish? They c\announced as though they wer the ND coaching staff.

Look at his left elbow. It's on the grass as he reaches out with the ball.

As a Dame fan I'm glad they won, I'm not happy with the poor play calling that put us in that spot. That said, I think Taylor wasn't actually down but we would have eventually won anyway.

Stanford should have played a more convincing run. It looked bad once the runner hit the ND wall and began going backward. I have to agree with the call because in that situation teams have to make a convincing play and not a maybe or almost play. Stanford should have capitalized much more with ND's TERRIBLE offensive plays and Goldson's STUPID mistakes. Luck of the Irish, I guess.

Play continues until the runners body touches the ground or the whistle is blown. I appeared that Stanford crossed the goal line on second effort... but we could not hear the whistle on TV. I was pretty sure it would be reviewed as soon as the play stopped. It was that close...

Taylor hit the line and bounced backward, therefore my understanding of forward progress at least, his forward progress had stopped because he bounced backward, not forward.

On the replay that showed the ball crossing the goal line, I thought Taylor's left elbow touched down before the ball broke the plane. No one commented on the left elbow, but to me it appears to touch the ground. But I am biased.
