I've never heard of this kind of event. And to be honest I'd show up with non-alcoholic beer or wine just to be a bitch about it :) In Canada some people have 'stag and doe' parties where they have a huge party with food that you have to buy tickets for and buy drinks to raise money for the wedding expenses.

I understand that people want to try to cut the cost of there wedding but I dont agree with this. If everyone is bringing what they like the drinks may not even match up. Are people required to bring the chasers and mixers too? Are black people doing this? Or is this only a white thing?
