I've never heard of this kind of event. And to be honest I'd show up with non-alcoholic beer or wine just to be a bitch about it :) In Canada some people have 'stag and doe' parties where they have a huge party with food that you have to buy tickets for and buy drinks to raise money for the wedding expenses.

The one I went to was in lieu of a bridal shower, so I say...yes.

WTH!!! its not for the wedding reception, its not for the bachelorette party, its for the bride and groom to have in their place! if that's what YOU want then ninja by all means make it easy for me; but for me honestly, no thank you; i want a gift that took you some time to think about from your heart. I don't want a"ooh i forgot to get Sonya a gift stop me by the mini mart real fast so i can buy a 6 pack of St. Ides or a bottle of MD 20/20" no thank you :) if it sounds snobbish so what you're not invited anyway.

I understand that people want to try to cut the cost of there wedding but I dont agree with this. If everyone is bringing what they like the drinks may not even match up. Are people required to bring the chasers and mixers too? Are black people doing this? Or is this only a white thing?

This is some broke-rich nigga shit. If you want a open bar, and can't afford one. Don't. have. one. What happened to living within your means? That should include the wedding day.
