If you want to get up earlier to maximize daylight then do so. Nobody is stopping you. Get up with the sun and go to bed with the sunset for all I care.
But don't force it on me.

It is incorrect to say that an hour of daylight is lost when we go back to standard time. The hour that is lost in the evening is gained in the morning. The length of the day does not depend on how we measure time.
Saskatchewan stays on standard time not daylight saving time i.e. when the sun is due south it is noon - that makes sense to farmers and to me, just get up earlier in the winter.
