Why sign him 2 an extension? My belief is that if u want a successful pitching staff, both relievers & starters, u need 2 have some veterans in there mixed w/ youth. What Dickey can bring is experience 2 some of the younger guys, nuturing them. Shoot, he could even teach them the knuckler just 2 give them another pitch option. Additionally, if he's ineffective as a started, he's the type of pitcher that can come out of the bullpen on a DAILY basis. U don't need 2 sign him 2 a long term deal, only a 2 year deal. Signing him cannot be a bad thing.
