The Office. Every character is hilarious in their own way. You just don't get that kind of character development on any other show. Frasier will run a close second on favorite comedy. Everybody Loves Raymond third, I Love Lucy fourth, and Arrested Development.

Combining absurdest comedy with heartfelt true characters, "Taxi" was the ultimate ensemble sit-com.

Jackie Gleason and The Honeymooners should've been #1 all time. And Seinfeld should've been #2. I can't believe people like Friends, that is (was) such a pathetic show.

NewsRadio is easily my favorite. The ensemble cast is outstanding and the show holds up to endless rewatching (trust me). Scrubs and Community would be my next choices.
How can you not include I LOVE LUCY? The granddaddy (grandmommy?) of all sitcoms - in fact Desi and Lucy invented the 4 camera sitcom in front of a live studio audience. And they were so good at it. The fact that 30 Rock (no offense) or Friends (okay, take some offense) is on this list and not ILL bodes ill for our times.

Most of those are great (though Friends is the most overrated sitcom in the world that isn't currently airing on CBS), but for my money you'll never do better than WKRP in Cincinnati.

No list of the greatest tv comedies would be complete without the Andy Griffith show!
