When the question comes up, how comfortable are you using the term "atheist" to describe yourself to others?

I use the term atheist to describe myself with no hesitation.

I use the term atheist to describe myself, but with some hesitation.

I typically find an alternative word (such as freethinker) to describe myself, avoiding the use of the term atheist.

I would deflect the question about my personal beliefs.

I chose the first answer to this poll, but it’s overly simplistic.

If I’m asked about my beliefs/worldview, I’m generally describe myself as a humanist, but not because it’s an alternative that avoids the use of the term “atheist”, but because it says far more about me than my simple non-belief in any god. But I have absolutely no qualms about saying that I am an atheist.
