Country as a genre has to start identifying the difference between country songs and country artists. Taylor Swift is a country artist (about as close to pop as you can get though) who produces pop songs sometimes. There is nothing that states an artist can't branch out from their norm to create different styles of music.
Industry has lost the plot - another genre gas emerged, but its not Country!
