The debate about guns won't end anytime soon. The government can make all the laws they want about strict gun control and those weapons will still end up in the wrong hands. Also, those that support the 2nd Amendment have in the past and will continue to put up a fight about it.

Gun ownership is to engrained in the US culture, people feel it is a right to own a gun.
