In the UK I've never seen yellow glue. The most common is white "PVA" and that's what I use most but if the work is to go outside then it's polyurethane every time. My favourite work is really restoration of antique pieces and for that or for veneering I'm able to use my favourite - hot hide glue nothing like it!
