The idea that the olympics would drop one of the original greek olympic sports is a disgrace. Next to to will be athletics. Then the olympics can be table tennis, field hockey, synch swimming, twirling those ridiculous things in gymnastics and the like. Just nuts!

Competitions that do not have a high degree of athleticism should be classified as competitive games and not true athletic sports and should be excluded. Golf definitely fits this description of a "sporting event" with little to no athleticism required competition that should be just a game. Others in this list would be bowling, shuffleboard, cricket, croquet, curling, darts, frisbee catch, kite flying, yo-yo, ball and paddle, cup and ball, cup stacking,musical chairs, ring toss,leap frog, duck duck goose, kick the can, tag, bean bag toss, hopscotch, marbles etc. you get my point.

I LOVE BADMINTON
I do not believe that Equestrian events belong in the Olympics. In all other events the only athletes are human beings, so the playing field is based on human potential, competition and achievement.
By including horse sports you are pitting another species against each other, but unfairly because the horse is bred according to its genetics and upkeep which are both a direct relationship to the wealth of the horse's owners. Which brings up another point, few people worldwide can afford an Olympic caliber horse to compete with so how can they call it a world competition with a straight face? Even if Equestrian events are practiced worldwide that hardly means it is available to start training as an "athlete" in that field for the vast majority. If one includes horse sports why not dog sleds etc. I hardly see how any horse rider can be called a world class athlete better than the rest of the field when so much depends on the horse itself and money.
there is obviously much love for badminton, which i too am fond of. I think most of the votes against badminton came as a result of the fixing scandal of the previous olympic games. Most players dont usually behave this way but it takes a bad act to cause an overreaction such as this.
Do not remove wrestling, it's one of the true sport before the beginning of time. That is one of the reason i watch the Olympics.
We shouldn't be dropping any of these sports; we should instead be looking to add sports. The increased diversity raises the likelihood of greater participation from more nations --- after all, isn't that the point?
Ice hockey players wouldn't be caught dead playing field hockey. That should tell you something.

Don't even think of dropping wrestling. It's one of the original sports from the Ancient Olympians. It'd be like uninviting Greece to the games. Only reason i watch the Olympics is for wrestling.
