Anne Hathaway's Oscars look: Love it or leave it?

So many of these long gowns are way too much for an awards night. It's no wonder one actress fell heavily when attempting to mount the stairs to collect her Oscar. Meryl Streep complained she was stepping on the back of her dress when she came on stage to present the Best Actor award.
Gowns of this nature are magnificent (mostly!) to look at - but they hark back to the days of balls, and strictly formal affairs. Long trains on dresses are for weddings - not an awards night.
A night on the red carpet followed by an awards show, doesn't really qualify.

This dress reminded me of a "kiss the cook" apron without a top to go in between it. For a person who I normally feel looks beutiful and classy, this was a definate miss.

This dress would have done better as a knee length dress, especially with the color and neckline. She has been trying too hard to pull off Audrey Hepburn lately, and this time, has failed. better luck next time Anne..or better yet, be yourself.
