It ultimately depends on whether or not it adds something to the story. Does it add humor? Does it offer a visual explanation? Does it further a plot point or illustrate a character trait? If it offers the reader something extra without taking away from the impact of the actual text, I say it is worth adding. I can see how stories based on survival could benefit from visual references, such as how to rig a snare trap, or how to "upgrade" a weapon wilth various bits of salvage. It could be both useful and humorous. I'm not so sure about puzzles or videos, but it would be interesting to experiment with integrating different media into a text.
