Should the state spend $375 million a year for three years on middle-class tax refunds?
Yes, middle-class New Yorkers with kids under 18 have a heavy tax burden and could use the help.
No, it's not fair that only families with children under 18 will receive refunds. The elderly, people with older or no kids and others with heavy tax burdens are being left out.
We shouldn't spend the money on refunds when there are unmet needs and state programs that have been cut, such as programs for the developmentally disabled.
I'm not sure what I think about the refunds.
