Is adopting a monkey a good idea for Justin?

I do feel sympathy for Justin that his whole life is under scrutiny but that is path he chose. With great stardom, comes great responsibility. Taking in a baby wild animal does not show great responsibility, it has simply condemned more of the helpless animals to a life of misery and frustration just to satisfy some stars desire to have a designer pet and then the millions of Bieber fans who will want to emulate the singer. Justin would show true maturity by getting this young primate to a sanctuary where it can be properly cared for. And he needs to take a stand against having any wild animals as pets. They can NEVER be fully trusted as pets and they need to remain in the wild. Doing what he is doing, even though it may be out of a misdirected sense of caring, is wrong. This is animal cruelty no matter how you try to spin it. We need people like Justin to take a stand against the atrocious trade in exotic pets.

This just goes to prove that a child with too much money buys stupid things he doesn't need. I feel sorry for that poor monkey! It belongs with it's mother, not on a soft toy! He really is proving himself to be a stupid little boy!

This really makes me mad. Justin Bieber is either trying to prove that he has something no one else has, or he really is as naive about the monkey pet trade as this photo illustrates him to be. This poor monkey was more than likely stolen from it's mother two days after being born, being placed onto a soft toy as a surrogate, the only thing it has to cling onto for security. Now he is being paraded in front of the cameras as the next best accessory for everyone to have. It gives such an awful message to the fans that do not understand this cruel and unecessary industry. In many cases, owners of these 'pets' pull ALL of their teeth out to stop them from biting, neuter them to stop their natural behaviours and put diapers on them to stop them from urine washing (rubbing their urine all over their body). All of this does not stop their naturally wild and aggressive tendencies, which is why eventually they will end up in a sanctuary or killed because they became too wild!!

I just hope that Justin is mature and sensible about this issue and provides his fans with a positive message about this. I hope that this poor monkey doesn't end up like the poor hamster Justin had a couple of months ago!!!

@Sara... agreed 100% . Having seen innocent monkey's have teeth pulled so owner won't get bit is just sooooooooooooooo sad. He will keep that monkey for a little while and I'm sure will be CAGED!!! which is dead wrong, they are cute and sweet untill they get a little older and them they will tear the house up, that is why people put them in a cage. How would they like to be caged??? Monkey's are born to jump, swing and run full blast . Not with people that will "play" with them when they feel like it. Not to mention how the mom must feel when they take a newborn from them :( they are empty inside. I know I had one, my ex bought one, without me knowing and brought him home, he left and I treated him like a child, because he didn't deserve to be put in a cage, he had own room, rope swings, little tykes house he slept in, hammocks, own tv in the wall ,toys etc. He also had full run of our house at all times except when we went to bed and he slept with a hair dryer for comfort. People need to watch a video of what really happens to them. I hope he really didn't buy one.

I work at a primate sanctuary where we have over 100 capuchin monkeys. They are wild animals and do not make good pets. There is only one capuchin here who has not bitten anybody, yet. Their canine teeth are big and they do a lot of damage. We have a lot of capuchins who have had teeth extracted in a miserable attempt to make them safer as a 'pet'. These poor monkeys have to have soft food to eat, but pulling their teeth did not make them much less dangerous.

I feel sorry for this poor monkey. How would you feel if you were abducted as a baby and raised by another species with no humans to relate to?

If Justin has adopted a monkey shouldnt we be greatful that he is moving on from his hamster: still have feelings for it but its great. I guess not many of you press now how to react when Justin Bieber is hurt why can't you just leave him alone and get on with your lives. Yes its great how you want to give us news and tells us what he is doing wrong well you people are in the wrong. If this is all you are going to do and stress about Justins or any celebs life go die in a ditch because you are not making @justinbieber's life any better........
