I'm a sucker for action stories, and that's what hooked me, but it came later in the first page. As a grandmother, it was kind of sickening to realize the gunman was targeting the kids, however, my taste runs to war stories, cop stories, so the author had me. Yes, I would have turned the page, despite some of my own editing thoughts. I was curious about how the sniper got to this place - had to choose to shoot or not.
