@Final Thoughts on Competition. What you likely fail to realize is the official Facebook page of Baylor University posted a link to the online poll at 10:30 AM. It is the first time they have mentioned the voting. Baylor had a lead on Marquette at midnight, and saying "1 vote per minute" sounds like something an actual person would do. A hacker would do 2, 3, 5! Marquette caught up in the middle of the night and took a small lead. Then Baylor students and alumni started rallying. My news feed when I woke up said "____ and 20 other friends shared a link." Rather than attributing it to hacks--which are nearly impossible to do if you're using the Baylor University's Bearweb Network--keep in mind it's a popularity contest. I have a feeling "Waco Charlie" likely thought he voted 100 times, while 99 of those votes were met with "Your vote has already been counted."
This was a very interesting process of polling. The amount of hacks and use of hiding IP tools makes the reality of true votes by an individual in the competition nonexistent. In the early rounds the voting was overblown because of easy refresh and polldaddy hacks that auto voted. After the IP address one vote rule was established, then only those knowledgeable in 'hide my IP' or auto proxy switcher tools could run the votes, outside of the common hacker. Even in the final round both teams had this going throughout the night. Baylor had a consistent 1 vote per minute and Marquette 3, then early AM Baylor stepped up their process after falling behind by almost 1000 and made it to the finish first. Lesson to Marquette, change the process when the competition steps up or find more computers! As one poster admits below he did well over 100 votes. Hard to do unless you are using an IP switcher. From a technology perspective I found this fun to watch how easily these polls can be manipulated. Next time have polldaddy institute a manual phrase verification input line for the user to enter for each vote to keep the auto hacks out and make it more difficult for the IP switcher by having to enter more information. Anyway, congrats to Baylor on the win! and congrats to Marquette on a close competition. Both meals look like great late night meals after drinks. Cheers to all....

I just can't believe how serious people are taking this thing. It's just a cute little poll for march madness. It's about who can get the most votes for there favorite heart-attack-on-a-plate (as most college food is). And most of the people voting have only tried one of the two options. Accusing people of cheating is just pathetic. Have any of you who did so considered that Baylor has roughly 3,000 more students than Marquette? And that we are Texans, therefore not only overly proud of our state but especially of our barbecue as well as our chili? And to the Baylor fans who are being disrespectful: shame on you, you have been taught better than that.

??? There is NO chili in the gut pack. Only brisket...or pulled pork, which is a new option. Slow smoked meat beats slow stewed chili over a stovetop anyday. Besides in Texas chili is a cold weather dish so why would anyone want a bowl of steaming chili over spaghetti except for half the year? Gut packs are a year round indulgence. Go Gut Pack!!

When my husband (then boyfriend) was attending Marquette on a basketball scholarship, he was broke and poor. The owner sensed his situation and would give him an extra big bowl and then..at times would not even charge him. He never forgot his kindness back in the olden days, 1962.

Like virtually everyone else, I'm voting as a homer. I truly enjoy the Gut Pak - it's a delicious barbecue mashup featuring excellent brisket and sausage - and if I ever get the opportunity I would love to consume some Real Chili as well. It looks delicious.

It is amazing how much people argue over an interweb poll. I voted for Real Chili as I have not had the Gut Pak, but knowing college towns it is probably cheap, tastes great and decent at absorbing alcohol. All this contest did was create a great list of places to eat when travelling. The other reason I voted for real chili is that it is the only food I have ever had an addiction to and will have when ever possible, in fact I may head that way this weekend. Remember everybody the interwebz are serious business.

The fact that all of you are willing to argue on a commetn board for a food bracket not only worries me for the future of America, but is a reality check for how far the human race has fallen. Kentucky's enrollment is 29000, and Marquette's is around 12000 give or take. That is why we voted Marquette. Just trying to help strategically.
