Exercising eminent domain was absolutely necessary. Dillards has held up the redevelopment process for years which has forced Longmont residents to leave the city to do their shopping. While Dillards has held up redevelopment, it has forced the city to give up sales tax revenue that should be funding our schools, parks and open spaces. I'm thrilled that the city finally put on their "big boy" pants and got a problem out of the way of economic development.
