Should The Senate Have Stopped The "Background Check" Bill?

False narrative which implies there isn't already a background check procedure in place as part of buying a weapon- there is. The rhetoric also implies that the new regulation would have prevented the massacre- it wouldn't have. The entire gun control movement is opportunistic political exploitation of the event to make use of the emotional fallout that enables the irrational linking of legal gun ownership and criminal activity to cultivate consensus support for increased removal of rights and freedoms. This is all the strategy of tyrants. Democracy becomes a tyrant's tool when the population is ill informed or propagandized.

These background checks can go both ways, be careful what you ask for. In 1978 I was arrested because I fit the description of a guy wanted for kidnapping and assault. I was released in short order when they realized I was not the person they wanted. However, 35 years later, this is on my background check. I was fired from a job with our local Board of Education, and to this day I cannot purchase a firearm. Getting anything removed from these things is impossible! Again, be careful what you ask for.
