Should GM Make A Buick Verano GS?

I have owned a Buick Verano Turbo for 5 months now and personally feel Buick needs to do more to differentiate this model from the base Verano. While I like the acceleration, the suspension could be more buttoned down. At the bare minimum, Buick should offer a sport suspension upgrade and different wheels for the Turbo model. This would keep the price in line and preserve GM's marketing niche for this vehicle.

As far as offering the Ecotec 2.0L I-4 VVT DI Turbo (LTG) engine, that might be a good idea as well. While I have slightly less than 3,400 miles on my vehicle and only drive it in the city, my mileage has averaged only between 18 MPG to 19.1 MPG. Very disappointing!

Otherwise it has been a very good vehicle for the money.

This version of the Verano could easily be included with the coming upgrade of the "Cruze" platform in a couple years. I own an ATS Performance Edition 3.6 and actually went to my dealer to discuss the purchase of a current Verano Turbo. At the time I owned a 6 year old Grand Prix GXP which I ultimately exchanged for the ATS. A close friend at work bought the GXP immediately 2 days later. Loan details came through at a rate which allowed me the ATS.

Buick should upgrade the Regal GS with the 2.8 V6/AWD and distance it from the Verano Turbo. Also. Buick needs the new Opel Cascada convertible, like immediately. And. Upgrade the 6 speed manual shifter which is receiving less than good reviews - same from the Regal Turbo version.

Btw. My 3.6 ATS returns well over 30mpg @ cruise controlled speed limit - I've seen as much as 35mpg over a bit more than 100 miles going and 34.6mpg coming back driving into a headwind. I have a dash picture to prove these mileage figures.

Yes, use the 259-hp, 260-ft-lb tq version of the ltg and also make it available with awd.
