our grandson jack 7 years old, mayor ford is his hero, mom and dad were sitting at the dinner table chatting about their day at work, mayor ford came on the news, jack would say mom and dad be quiet, the mayor is talking, had an opening of the park at Weston and shepherd. jack was unable to speak to our mayor, poppy placed a call to mayor ford, asking the mayor if he could come to our condo and meet jack. mayor ford called poppy and said I have a meeting to attend at 4pm, mayor ford had said I well call you back, after my meeting and come to you condo corporation to meet jack at 7pm unreal mayor ford came to our corporation at 7pm. and made our grandson jacks day, mth year, can anyone follow up with a previous mayor of this beautiful city and top this amazing mayor to kid story?

All i think this is a witch hunt for rob ford these people should let him do his job and stop trying to make him look bad because he is for the people because if he leaves city hall everything will go back to the old ways

Aye, John... I totally noticed that, too! Global favoured the poll that showed the Mayor in the worst light, instead of the poll that was almost split. The confidence question was not a fair one, in my opinion. "Do I think Toronto has lost confidence in the Mayor?" Er yah, some people! But have I? No. His response to this nonsense was good enough for me. It was enough when he said it was ridiculous... because it is. I didn't even see the first survey when I went to their website, I could only find the poll for the "Are you satisfied with the Mayor's response." What a scam!

I am disgusted with the media mongering yet again. I cannot fathom or believe that the media is on the bandwagon because one person said so or how unconscious and in a frenzy the media is around this Rob Ford issue. It seems like they are a groupie bunch exaggeration the non facts its all here say at this point is anyone awake? As has been said innocent until proven guilty. I lean in the direction that this is a set up a maybe as Rob has said since the globe and mail seem to find ways to blow things up now for ages. It also seems like a great diversion from whats going on in Ottawa. Media mafia style since the real issues there are totally dishonest and being covered up. At this rate it seems the Toronto media will continue to character assassinate Rob Ford but hes not the real culprit and cant hurt Toronto. Toronto citizens folding arms and judging without seeing evidence eat at the reputation of Toronto. Including some of those in the council and especially the media. Very sad to see such superficial and unthinking common sense going on.

What a unsubstantiated, uncorroborated non-story. Zero effort was made to check facts, validate evidence, pursue other leads or interview independent sources. Just the voice of one sketchy dude and his sketchy video... which only 3 people in the world have seen, apparently. Lazy, sloppy, irresponsible journalism in true 'News of the World' fashion.
That grainy photo of 'Mayor Ford' & 'his homies' is totally bogus; which has to make one wonder about the rest!
So what gives, Toronto?! Some people hate Mr. Ford so much, they want him on crack! Witch-hunt, indeed! At least give the benefit of the doubt to the guy who is not the self-proclaimed drug dealer, on the make for some easy coin...
    Leave the Mayor alone, dammit!

It was shocking enough that people would vote for an idiot like him, but to see that some of them still support him after 2 1/2 years of the Rob Ford circus is incomprehensible to decent, sound-minded and reasonable people everywhere. I don't know which is more embarrassing to our city: the fact that we have a mayor like this or that there are still so many like him.

  • Patricia - 11 years ago

Rob Ford may have done good things for Toronto but his constant negative publicity belittles any achievements he has made. He is a liability to the city and needs to resign

  • John - 11 years ago

Why did Global Toronto News show the pole results as 90% yes, 3% No & 6& Not Sure, when the results above are 53% Not Satisfied & 47% Satisfied with Rob Ford's response. Where and why do you have 2 surveys?

  • Anna Blom - 11 years ago

I think Ford is a disgrace. They should test his blood.I think he is way to much trouble. He don't even act accordingly while in public. If you want you booze and drugs stay home!!!

I'm starting to believe in this conspiracy against Mayor Rob Ford. If he has no credibility left it's because certain people have decided they want him out of the Mayor's seat so they are working really hard at doing just that. The media should focus on bigger issues like why the Liberal party got away with wasting 1 billon dollars of our hard earned money by just saying "Sorry"... Well I'm sorry but that's just not enough for me. Rob Ford may not be the best Mayor but I believe he was sincere when he helped those children he coached. You tell me tax payers, where would you rather see OUR money being spent.... using it to pay the bills of the caucus and then covering it up or on OUR children. Kevin Donovan from The Toronto Star should focus more of his time on that issue rather than trying to bring down Rob Ford! Get your priorities straight!

Someone please tell me a politician that has not be the brunt of late night humour. He should only be judged on the job he does for Toronto not what he does in his personal life.
No matter what he does it is never good enough....leave him alone for God sake.

  • Patricia - 11 years ago

Rob Ford is the only mayor to the best of my recollection (and I am over 50) that has brought the city of Toronto so much disgrace and negative publicity. Whether he did or did not use crack is immaterial now. He has made Toronto and Canadians the source of late night humour. He should be ashamed of himself and step down now before he destroys Canadian credibility completely on the world stage.

It is the MEDIA that has made TORONTO a laughing stock all over the world, and tarnished Rob Ford's reputation, by FIRST publically announcing that Rob Ford used crack cocaine BEFORE actually having physical evidence. It was all based on the word of a Toronto Star reporter, which EVERYONE knows they have NEVER liked Rob Ford. I have noticed the past few days that when it is aired the media now PROTECTS itself by stating "these are allegations & you do not have evidence" Why was it ever made public when a person is ALWAYS innocent until proven guilty? I seen the media waiting at City Hall like VULCHERS for Rob Ford or any politician to show up for any kind of story. The media should be ashamed of themselves and I cannot believe that you all have nothing better to do with your time.

i think mayor rob ford is doing am awesome job as toronto mayor,he is doing the job he was hired to do . What he does or doesnt do on his own person time is no buddies business. I think the school should reconsider he job as coach as the school is not teaching the kids the respect he deserves until proven differentlly.I also believe the toronto sun and other media has been after him since he took office. YEAH FOR MAYOR ROB FORD keep up the good work

  • jennifer - 11 years ago

i think it is sick how the media is making this all out towards mr.ford! when this all came about he did say it was rediculous and now after 8 days after the media kept haunting him he finally came back with a statement which i dont think he should have done! as there is only hear say and no evedience to this story it is just another attempt to try and bring him down! as for this mr.cook to say im creditable and fords not i have never heard from him before and as far as im concerned he is just out to get ford anyway he can! by the way i thought news people were suppose to be pro and con and not or try not to bring there own appions on any story!

  • Patricia - 11 years ago

Seriously is there nothing else to report on in this city, leave the poor guy alone.. No one could put up with what he has gone through with the media, the man deserves a medal. Judge him by the job he does not what he does in his personal live.
The star has stooped too low this time. You wonder why your subscriptions are so low.

  • Evelyn Boothby - 11 years ago

Torontonians should be ashamed of themselves.. " Innocent until proven guilty." Now that the Mayor Rob Ford pubicly denied the allegations, there's still criticism... will anything ever be good enough? This is a linch mob against Rob Ford... It seems as if nothing is ever good enough! Get a grip Toronto!!!!

  • Shirley Gerry - 11 years ago

When will the media leave this guy alone? I believe that even now, after he spoke out against the allegations, the media are the ones that are trying to encourage the general public to ask for more. What more do you want this man to say or do (have a drug test?) If I were Rob Ford, I would be suing all of them. I will never pick up the Toronto Star again since they are doing nothing but going on a witch hunt after Rob Ford, aided by those want-to-be mayors who are trying to discredit the guy.

Good luck Mr. Ford - looks like you are going to need it with all these idiots who have nothing better to do or cannot find any other news to report.

  • Frances Vancer - 11 years ago

Susan you are quick to judge Mayor Ford without evidence. How can someone be accused without eivdence? Is this the new world that we live in?

  • Frances Vancer - 11 years ago

I think the media is on a frenzy about Rob Ford. Leave him alone until you get the evidence that you need to talk about something with substance, instead of sensationalism. Remember he is innocent until proven guilty.

  • Susan Crisp - 11 years ago

Mr Ford has no credibility left - he is a bad influence on youth for flaunting the rules and the law - he should step down and let our city recover.
