Does U.S. culture condition girls to be overly concerned with their looks above all else? How do you raise your daughters to counteract such conditioning?
I talk about it with her but DON'T restrict her access to gender-specific toys, books, films.
I talk about it with her AND am careful about which toys, books and films she accesses.
I don't talk about it, but I do restrict her access to toys, books and films that overemphasize stereotypical images of women.
I don't worry about it; I was exposed to stereotypes of women all the time when I was growing up, and I turned out fine.
I don't know.
