Who fared the worst in the NCAA sanctions against Penn State and its football program?
Bill O'Brien. It turns him into a bowl-banned lame duck just marking time.
State College. The fall business engine of football isn't what it used to be.
The players. It put them in an all-around terrible situation.
The NCAA and Mark Emmert. Both overstepped their bounds and sacrificed moral authority.
The university and its leaders. They rolled over, accepted the sanctions and damaged PSU's public image.
The fans. With no bowls, limited scholarships and 14 years of wins gone, there's not much to root for.
The football program. It will takes years to recover from such harsh penalties.
Joe Paterno. He went from all-time winning-est legend to permanently-stained fallen idol.
