Michelle is correct. If you find yourself on the bottom in a fight you are in deep trouble. Been there; very frightening. Once pined you will be at the mercy of the attacker. If your head is being smashed on a concrete surface you will know instinctively that you could die. In order to save your life you will do whatever you can to survive, including shooting the person who is trying to kill you. George acted to save his own life. We all have that right.
This whole SELF DEFENSE case has made me dislike our President that I adored and made me ashamed of our country. The unbelievable witch hunt has been unfair, sneaky and disgusting. The entire portrayal of a liitle sweet ' child' Trayvon was a lie. Now most of the world is wanting George dead. From day one it has been based on cleverly crafted lies. It has divided family friends and our country. Lynch mob mentality....sheep...Why? Money, fame and an excuse for the New Black Panthers, Sharpton and African Americans to destroy us ' white devils' (crackers) as many of them have wanted to do since slavery ended. Sad, tragic and evil. The media should be ashamed of their treatment of George, too. When he is MURDERED, I suppose most of the nation will celebrate. Barbaric.

A commentator on the show mentioned the opinion of "white Republicans". This is not a political issue and should not be a race issue. I am a woman who consistently votes Democrat and I am a supporter of President Obama and respect his wisdom on many issues. All people have the right to defend themselves. If a person, or a teenager of any gender or race leaps on someone else (of any gender or race) and pushes their head into the pavement and puts that person in fear for their life, I believe that the person being attacked has the right to defend his or herself, and that by doing so he or she should not be deemed guilty of murder. Innocent Zimmermen - that is the correct verdict, and a victory for Justice and the right of people who are being attacked to defend themselves.
