Should the Phillies fire Charlie Manuel?

I did not want to see Charlie Manuel go, but the hand writing was on the wall when the front office (Ruben Amaro Jr.) brought Ryan Sandberg up from the minors. Did it make a difference? NO!!!!!

RUBEN AMARO JR. IS A LOW DOWN SNAKE!!!!!

In the beginning of the week he tells Charlie that he will not be brought back in 2014. Then on Friday he fires the poor guy. Amaro knew earlier in the week that he was going to fire him, so why did he give him false hope by telling him that he would not be coming back next year and then firing him at the end of the week. It would have been an easier pill to swallow if Charlie was let go after the season was over. Show the man some respect. Let him leave with some dignity. But, oh no. That is not the way that you operate when you are lower than a snake's belly (A.K.A. Ruben Amaro Jr.).

Charlie deserved better. He deserved better for all that he did for the Phillies , the city and the fans. Amaro could have waited until after the season was over to give Charlie the axe. We all knew that this day was coming, so why did Amaro have to show the world that he was a dirty, rotten skunk in the way that he showed Charlie no respect in the way that he was let go?

Charlie was not the cause of the downward tail spin of the Philadelphia Phillies. It is the fault of the players and Amaro for depleting the farm system, over the years, of our top prospects.

Amaro had the nerve to go on television boo hoo hooing about how he felt about Charlie. It is my opinion if firing someone made you so upset, then why in the world would you do it. LA shut us out on Friday and Saturday. Who is to blame for these losses?

I am and will always be a Charlie Manuel fan and and most of all his supporter. I will be at the game on Sunday, August 18, 2013 with my numbered Charlie Manuel t-shirt (#41) in support of, and yes grieving, the loss of the best manager that the Phils have had and probably will ever have.

Look for me in section #132, row A.

Charlie, may your legacy in Philadelphia sports history rest in peace through out eternity.

    Sincerely,

    Vanessa Ramona Whittington Roberts

If that is your philosophy then he had nothing to do with any of their wins as well. Research Jim Leyland. He was available when the Phillies selected Charlie Manuel the proclaimed hitting guru. Certain guys can turn bad clubs around. The Phillies weren't a bad club when he took over. They were a young team getting experience. A good manager can get the most out of their team not the very least and show no emotion on the way there. A team eventually takes on the personality of the manager.....complacent, no emotion, no ups , no downs, no one gets thrown out , no one argues, and they are all afraid to make any changes whether in the line up , at the plate , or with the roster. If Charlie had his way, this would be a team of 40 plus year old guys past their prime because they were good at one time. This team needs to get young quick and needs a manager with come fire. Hope we don't have to wait another 20 plus years.

I am sure this is killing CHarlie too.. HE is not behind the plate nor is he making the salary these players make. How much can he be expected to do?
