I support 'Van jumps' views, otherwise abolish the senate.

It's time to close the doors on Canada's most expensive senior citizen's retirement home. Get your name in the news as a politician, sports celebrity or just plain friend of the residing political party and you could end up with one of the cushiest jobs in the land. The Senate is a place to go and not be accountable, run up big expenses, collect a very nice salary, get a great deal of perks, stay as long as you want and then when you do decide to leave be rewarded with a great pension. Who wouldn't want to have a position like that? Unfortunately the cost of these vultures is around 110 million dollars a year and that doesn't account for pension contributions. Wall is absolutely correct, dump this albatross.

I'd really prefer it be reorganized along lines of U.S. Senate. Set number per province (4) with half elected every 3 years for 6 tear term.
