I have just watched the final episode - what a twist and what a miserable ending. Dexter should have made it to Hannah and Harrison. After 8 years the character developed so much and grew inside as a person who started perceiving feelings and hold on to human relationships. Just the opposite of what Dex was in the very beginning. I really hope that there will be a sequel and Dexter will come together again with Hannah and his son. Hate it that Deb died - she was a major support in Dex life. I really hope that the producers will come up with something in the near future.

I enjoyed the ending. I'm glad Dexter didn't die and there is a chance that he'll reunite with Harrison and Hannah in the future. Deb wasn't my favourite character in the series so I didn't mind that she died at the end although it would have been nice if she and Quinn had been married.

First of all, I have to say I loved the entire 8 seasons of Dexter, and will miss it greatly.
However, I too was disappointed with the final. I really wanted Dexter to have his happy ending.
He deserved to be happy after everything he went through for 8 seasons.
He and Hannah would really good together, and I would have loved to see that happen.
It would have been nice for the writers to give us the fans a glimps into their futures. What is happening in Dexter's life 15 years from now?
But if a mini series or tv movie is going to happen, then perhaps they can make it right and tie up all those loose ends.
Talk to your fan base and see what we want.

What can I say. The writers had it handed to them on a plate, a highly ranked TV show, great actors, and a chance to go down in TV history.
I am so sad that they did not deliver to the avid fans of Dexter. One critic said that this season had stumbled along, and I have to agree as it fell over the finishing line.
My suggestion for what it's worth, is to wait a year or two and come back with a mini series to tie up all the loose ends (of which there were so so many), The creators of "The Big C" managed to do this, and I think it is only fair to the fans who have a DVD collection that this once great show, ends the way it should have.
With an almighty bang that fans and critics will remember for ever.

I can't stop crying. Hate that Deb died, and refuse to think that Dexter series is over. If I could rewind time I would not have watched the finale.

LOVED it! This way down the road a movie or a series return is possible...Of course I wish Dex was united with Hannah & Harrison...In my mind, I believe he'll reconsider and seek them out!!

Perfect ending to an 8 year experience. It was art, and I wouldn't change a thing. Every strand was tied off (including Dexter's).

I thought the finale was awesome, but I'm upset that the series is over!! I hate that Deb died and that Dexter is not with Hannah and Harrison! Hope the series will be back with a twist :)
