Unfortunately the survey gives only 2 options... raise or lower. What about status quo. I know there is lots of argument to raise the limits but here are 2 reasons to keep the limits the same.
1 - Collisions- yes we are building safer highways, but metal hitting metal or rock at higher speeds will always result in more damage and injuries.
2 - Fuel economy - Higher speeds result in higher fuel consumption. We all talk about the high cost of fuel, fuel emissions, saving the environment, etc. Most vehicles get optimum gas mileage at 90 to 100km/h, with an increase in gas consumption of 10% for every 10-15km/h over that.
I fail to see an real benefits to travelling at a higher rate of speed.

Two posted speed limits. One for spring summer and fall driving and one for winter or FREEZING conditions. Other countries that do not have winter driving conditions have higher posted speed limits.
I also agree with R.Kirk of having two speed lanes. This also works well in other countries.

I think that the left lane should be raised, leaving the right lane at the now posted speed. This would give people who feel comfortable travelling at that speed.. as well as multi axel trucks and buses only have the right lane to travel in.. leaving the left lane open for a higher speed limit to those who feel comfortable traveling 15 to 25 kph over right lane posted speed, this is not an option for multi axel trucks or buses.. also higher fines when travellng in the left lane.. when someone decides too travel well over the posted speed. or when someone is travelling to slow for that lane the fine should be the same as travelling too fast. This would give the travelling public two choices, to get in with left lane jet stream or to take their time in the slower right lane.. The rural two lane highway should stay at the posted 90 to100 kph range, because of the residental access along the route ..

I believe speed limits should be raised on highways. Newer vehicles have a "higher" optimum cruising speed. I also feel that along with this, education and improved testing/competencies should be examined and how do you compensate for less experienced drivers...bring out the track.

Stay the same..........too confusing, to change now. Those who go slower...(the very few)... find it safest for them. Those who go faster... will go faster, no matter what the speed limit is. Why mess it all up... at least drivers know what speed they are supposed to go: more confusion on the road, isn't anything that drivers need.

I would vote for higher speeds on some ROADS if at least 90% of drivers were capable of driving at speeds
greater than 100 klicks I KNOW THAT i tend to drive a bit faster and am 80 years old but most of us with almost perfect records have seen a lot of younger people wiithout our 65 years of driving act like complete
idiots.I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN SENIORS DRIVE BELOW THE POSTED SPEEDS IN GOOD WEATHER either
so reason must be used by all. SPEEDS WILL HAVE TO COME UP BECAUSE THERE IS LITTLE ENFORCEMENT
and you could be driving on our roads at 130 k and be passed
