Easier access to alcohol is sending the wrong message to minors. Who will be monitoring the liquor stores to ensure that minors are not being served? This is already a problem in the non- government liquor stores.
Making it easier to buy alcohol only benefits the provincial coffers. What supports are going to be set up to deal with the increased alcoholism? Just like the gambling addictions that the government wouldn't be an issue.
I would prefer my tax dollars to be spent on non - self inflicted health concerns.
If patrons of the present establishments could be trusted to manage their consumption of alcohol without being a burden to society, don't you think it would already be readily available ?
