What'ss your reaction to revelations that the long-touted $3.9 billion price-tag for the new Tappan Zee Bridge could be exceeded by more than $800 million?

It's disappointing but not surprising that rosy initial estimates would prove far too optimistic.

When has a government project not come in wildly over budget?

It's to be expected. The cost of everything goes up, especially for such a long-term project.

Financing costs aren't really part of the project, so I don't see this as any change.
